OK, some how I managed to set this up between my main PC and my laptop. Unfortunately, now my laptop doesn't see the network, I think.

When it was working I would open "my network places" under the start menu on my laptop and the shared folder would be there. Now "my network places" has disappeared on the laptop but it's still on the main PC. Any ideas on how to get it back on the laptop?

I need to share my porn across these computers. As you can see it's a matter of life or death!

Click on the folder on your pc, properties, and check disable simple file sharing? I think this can be a problem if part of a 'network', but not if it's set up as a workgroup.
Bigdyl or Doms will know.

Here you go:

  1. Right-click the desktop, and then click Properties.
  2. On the Desktop tab, click Customize Desktop.
  3. Under Desktop icons, click to select the check boxes of the icons you want to view.
  4. Click OK two times.

start>my computer>rt click c:>select sharing and security>select that you want to share c: on your network at the root level. This allows your entire C drive to be looked at from any computer on your network. You can also select any folder>rt click>select sharing and security> and select just that folder instead of your entire drive. You need to allow that file tree to be opened through your network as well in some instances for that one folder to be accessible ...

Network Drive Mapping

I do this for all of my computers at home so that the shared folder shows up as a drive...
