I have a few questions

First off. Keep in mind I have a back injury and i'm on some pills for it on occasion. I work through the pain the best I can.

Ok guys,

I'm 21, I'm 6,1 tall. I USED to be fat like 235 pounds. I ran every night and got down to 160 pounds. I started working out with my bench and weights at home. I was benching 145 at my best but I was really going anywhere. I didn't see any results. I also have a curling bar. I was doing the following exercises hammer-curls,incline-dumbbell-flies,incline-dumbbell-curl,
dumbbell-hammer-curls.

I would also bench, curl, and do wrist curls ( i think thats what there called ). I would do about ten to 15 reps of each every other night and didn't see enough results. I also took whey protein. Finally I gave up. We'll now its about 3 or 4 months later. I weigh the same (don't know why that is because i'm eating more) but I also notice I did loose muscle in my arms and chest. I'm skinny now and want to stay that way I would just like to beef up my arms and chest and maybe get some abs down the road.

So here are my questions.

1. What did I do wrong the first time?

2. Is whey protein enough?

3. Do I need to join a gym or is my home equipment enough?

Can you please help me come up with a work out plan and exercises? I'd also like to build my back muscles

wow- Hi, welcome to IM-
Where to start? you really did not give much info to go on. What's wrong with your back? has the doc cleared you for lifting?
What can and can't you do?
have you read the stickies?
The only workout you are doing is chest-n-bis?
You're neglecting most of your body.
I would highly suggest getting a psports doc clear you or explain what you can and cannot do, due to this injury?
You need to get a whole body workout program. (read the stickies)
You can do alot of things at home with minimal equipment...just have to be creative. Or go join a gym.
It sounds like you are also new to lifting. Maybe hire a personal trainer long enough to show you proper form and get you going...just my .02 worth
