Anybody else like working out in layers and heat training, then drinking the water back in when you're done?

I usually do about 20-25 mins cardio on the treadmill, then 30 mins lifting layered up to sweat....UnderArmour long sleeve shirt and tights under at least two layers of sweatshirts/sweatpants. Often with a nylon lined jacket over the top sweatshirt. Also, full finger sports gloves.

I've found that not only does it feel great when I'm done, but it's good training for running outside in the summer.

Thoughts?

i work out with a tee shirt a long sleeve shirt and a hoodie. only one pair of pants though.. i just like it cuz i sweat more, i have this mental feeling that the more i sweat the better the cardio-workout i got. so yes i work out with multiple layers on wheather lifting or cardio.

besides sweating out tons of water and risking dehydration (not good) what the fuck are you trying to accomplish? It reminds me off the kids in high school wrestling that would ride the stationary bike with sweat pants and sweatshirts on and a garbage bag over their body to sweat out water to make weight. it was not healthy at all and dehydration can fuck you up.

So they throw diet and training out the window? Damn. "I can eat whatever I want but when it comes to the meet, I'll just sweat!"

I'd drop. I sweat through hard work, not 15 pounds of clothing.

We'd always do that. Eat to get to the top of the weight division; then sweat out just prior to weigh-in; and re-hydrate. The problem was that once you made the team (state/national) you couldn't change weight divisions because you hadn't qualified for the other division. I'd not recommend it at all.

As to why in the hell anyone would do it who doesn't need to make a weight division - I have no idea.

I usually wear a hoodie but not really to sweat or anything, I use it because it helps protect me" you could say. It is more comfortable for when I'm doing squats and what not. I do like the feeling of sweating like hell though.

I workout in my garage which is cold in the winter (well not real cold) and hot in the summer (Sacramento, CA). Only occasionally do I wear anymore than shoes, shoes, soxs, shorts and a tee shirt. I am always sweating by the third set. Don't need no hoodie. WTF is that anyway? Some kind of "dew rag"?

I wear a hoody but past my warmup or maybe one working set, it comes off.

Never said I was trying to cut weight, although I've done that before. Just feels great to sweat it all out and drink it back in.

Ditto. It's always nice and cold at the gym so I wait a few sets till my t-shirt or hoody comes off. After that I'm warm enough plus sweat smells!

I'd rather not have a load of people round the gym sweating unnecessarily and stinkin up the place.

why did you bump this?

I wear layers for cardio but always making sure I'm drinking lots of water. It's freezing in Canada, and my gym still has the freakin' AC on.
