I missed wrestlling last night. Helping son with homework. Hope I didn't miss anything good.
You missed Billy Kidman showing himself to be the panty waist I always knew he was. He may be a cool cat in real life (cause Torrie married him, anyways) but as a wrestler he is boring as white paint. He left Paul London to get his ass whiped by Rene DuPree and Kenzo Suzuki and they lost the tag team titles.firestorm said:

Yeah she married him about a couple of years ago. Almost broke my fuking heart. He may be a cool cat, and he may be a great wrestler, but he's more boring than driving on a straight desert highway. What DID break my heart was when Stephanie married HHH. Poor girl just doesnt realize that her and I were meant to be.

MVP,, I'll say this...after seeing what some of these little punks (the troublemakers) look like, I can at least say, I may not be hip but I can blow 90% of them away in the gym in regards to strength and size. So they can have the little hip gangsta finger signals (that I just saw in some dorks smartasses gallery), all the new slang terms and I'll represent what "really" matters. No wannabe here. Anyways.....yeah, there are more hardcore "real" people here than most places Ive been to. Lotsa personal trainers here also......a whole bunch of them. Thats why I dont post a lot. I just STFU and try to read and learn as much as I can.
And the ladies.....YOW......Atherjen, Rockgazer, shutupandtra1n, GoalGetter, greekblondechic.....damn, lol, they make my knees weaker than a kick to the balls.
Anyways what were we talking about???.......Oh yeah....wrestling. Kurt Angle and Luther Reigns have a tag team match against Eddie Guerrero and Big Show next week. Its going to be off the hook. Did you know I was related to Eddie?

I appreciate your lumping me in with such an elite group here but I don't belong in that group. I'm a step down from the names you mentioned but that was the nicest compliment I believe I've ever gotten. Robert, Gopro, Mudge are the cream of the crop here and they go out of their way to help people. They are TOPS in my book. I can't even take credit any longer for really helping people because I follow Gopros advice and training principles so when I offer training suggestions, they are really Gopro's. I've never had such awesome "natural" gains since taking his phylosophy and making it my own. Pure genius in my opinion. Great guys without a doubt.

NOOO no way!!! You playing with me? HOw are you related? I hear that since loosing the belt he has been very depressed. He blames himself for the poor ratings as of late. I also heard that he was so bad that Vince had to make arrangements to meet with him for a sitdown meeting to ensure him that the rating problem was not his fault. (which I tend to agree with).

But anyways, yeah I heard the same things. Didnt know it was as bad as all that that he had to go talk to Vince.
See, they decided to give Eddie a push because Brock was on his way out AND because he was seen as someone who could boost the ATTENDANCE levels. Which he most certainly did. Attenndance levels means more money for the under card athletes. I have no idea exactly HOW, but it does.
When Brock decided to leave, they knew they had to have someone who could appeal to both TV and attendance audiences, so they played up Eddie's heart and discipline and determination that he's had since going clean. THAT is what made him so popular right off the bat. Then he went and became a master of th promo and he was entertaining as hell and became even MORE popular. The undercarders definately loved him for it. But I kinda do feel that his loss hurt ratings. Not as a fault of HIS, but as a fault of them giving JBL the title and making him a heel. If Bradsahw had stayed Bradshaw, he would have been tremendously popular. No one likes JBL, but they loved Bradshaw. This ticket is going nowhere quick, so they bring in Undertaker to get the interest in the title again.
Its a stupid storyline and it borders on asinine. But I think Eddie will definately get another title shot sometime late this year or next. But first Taker has to get not only himslef back in circulation, he has to get the title interest back where it should be. Eddie cant have the title just yet, not with Taker coming back because then they'd have to make Taker an antagonist to Eddie. Thats not good because both Taker and Eddie are too popular. So Im thinking Taker will win the title at next PPV and maybe, MAYBE JBL will be a small factor due to the rematches. But what then happens is Eddie gets a chance for redemption on TWO antagonists - Angle and JBL. And now that Big Show is back to square things with Kurt, its going to be Big Show, Angle, Eddie, AND Taker as the top contenders. I see (or HOPE) big things coming from the story lines after all this. Not this asinine crap with JBL. I mean, just look at what they did with the Cruiserweight division. I think its excellent to have little Spike Dudley as "the Boss". He plays it to a T!

I hear all you said and agree with just about everything but I have little belief that the Undertaker is around for any period of time. He won't win the title becuase he works on limited basis as stated in his contract. Similar to the Rock. JBL is a pretty cool character but NOT for Bradshaw. Bradshaw should have remained bradshaw, the beer drinking long black haired bad ass. That was a great personna. JBL would have been fine for someone new I think.
Taker may be around for limited periods of time but
A) he needs to remain visible. And in good standing with the fans
Take Rock. He is visible, but the majority of people are already starting to get annoyed with him. Is he, or isnt he, a wrestler? Then the bring him back as a heel and it backfires. No one liked it and whats worse, they didnt just dislike it, they didnt care. The purpose of a heel is to draw heat. Rock didnt draw much at all. Not to the level that someone else could. Im sure they know that they cant make the same mistake again. And not with Taker. Hence the shot at the title because limited appearances will work against him otherwise.
Take Brock, when he was a face wrestler. He was so loved and over the top that he couldnt wrestle all that much. It took away from his "phenomenon". When he came out people practicaly came unglued. They knew that there was only so many times he could clobber someone before having that get old, so they limited his onscreen appearances and it worked like a charm. The less he wrestled, the more his persona grew.
B) Someone needs to get the title back up to prominance again.
Taker is the only one with the "phenom" status to be able to do that AT THIS TIME. Eddie, much as I love the guy, cant do that if Taker were to be making appearances. The character of JBL took a lot away from the "shine" of the title, so Taker has to step in and bring it back. He will win it and then lose it again to someone like Angle or Eddie or Show. Then he will be gone for a period of time again and then come back. In the meantime, interest in the title holder will be back and hopefully the ratings as well.

I can't argue with your logic. That is clearly a very good scenerio and makes a hell of alot of sense which is why I doubt it will happen. WWE just has been blowing it as of late pretty badly. I mean really...why didn't they let taker take the belt when he met JLB last time or against Kane at the buried alive PPV? Honestly, I don't think Taker wants the responsibility. My opinion of course. I may be waaay off. Between you and I and anyone else that would care to listen, I feel Kurt Angle makes a great champion. He has the look, onstage presence as well as the gift of gab. He looks like a champion. I just HOPE WWE doesn't make him out to be a chump as it began to look Thursday at the contract signing. I don't like him pretending to be afraid of the Giant one. It's like a step backwards for Engle if that is the way they go. In fact, I'll be pissed if he loses to the Show at the PPV and if he wins I hope it is on his own and not with outside interference. Time will tell where they go with these guys.

Angle is and was much more popular as a face/champ, than as a heel/champ. And I also agree about why it wont happen as I stated. You're right, WWE has been blowing major chunks lately in the creative department. I am of the firm belief that the writers are NOT fans themselves. But Angle doesnt seem to want to remain a face, like he was the last time. He just happens to like being a heel. Makes no sense to me since heels dont sell as much merchandise as faces do, and THATS where the money for the superstars is. Still......someone has to do it.
I dont think they will make him a "chump", but they will make him a true heel champ if and when he becomes one again. If he loses to Show, it will be with the help of Eddie. If he wins, it will be with the help of Luther. See, WWE superstars just cant lose clean because it doesnt look good. Look at all the major loses from the past and they have always been due to interference. That way they keep the storyline going and milk it for all they can. Plus which it just doesnt look good for a superstar to lose cleanly. No way can a superstar lose cleanly and make a grudge believable. Thats why the "who is the better wrestler" between Eddie and Kurt was never settled. Because it cant be.

He has a newborn kid and all and Im sure he doesnt want to be away for however long it takes to carry the title believably. But someone of his caliber has to do it, and Smackdown doesnt have anyone else of his caliber. No, not even Angle. If it had Stone Cold, or even Mick Foley - legends in their own time, then maybe. But right now Angle is a heel, Eddie has JUST lost the title, Big Show is not a superstar of prominence YET (due to all the years they held him back. C'mon....losing to X-pac?? Get real). So I think it only makes sense to have someone like Taker hold the title right now. If only to bring prestige back to it.

Kinda stupid to call one the World Champion when you only have like....5 guys in your world. Just plain stupid. I still remember the prestige that "Undisputed Champion" carried, and I will NEVER forget how AWESOME HHH looked as he came down the Smackdown ramp with both belts over his shoulders the week he won them from Y2J. The place went bananas and they almost didnt allow him to do his promo. Then when Hogan won it (dont like Hogan) people cheered so long and so loud that he could not do his promo for almost 10 minutes. The only time I saw anything else like that is when Eddie won. My god....that was awesome!
