My friend is completely into powerlifting and so for this Christmas I am trying to get him something that deals with powerlifting: DVDs, books, equipment, etc..Any ideas on what to get?

A gift certificate to a good steak joint.

Haha, awesome. Or a chinese buffet.

Bands can be found pretty cheap so you could get him a decent variety. Depending on how strong he is, you'll want to check out the distance vs weight ratio. For example, EFS bands:

Get him/her a gift cert. To eliteFTS..... Beat thing you could do. That way he/she gets what they want, not what you think they want. A female I trained for her first and second PL meetgot me a 200$ gift card and it was tits... I got ALOt of new stuff with it.

Cork, those band calibration charts are a godsend!

As for a gift, if you don't want go with the EFS giftcard, APT wraps have a ton of awesome PL related stuff - I have several sets of their wraps and they've stood up to a real beating.

Yeah I know items ARE best but getting things you don't want always sucks.

Gifts make your day very special.Gifts like Cards,Flowers,Toys etc.
Gifts make people feel loved ??? and this applies not just to the receiver, but to the giver of the gift as well. Giving gifts is something special and it takes effort, time, and of course money on the part of the giver. If you are giving gifts, make sure that the receiver will be able to acknowledge and know that it is you who have given that item.
