Hi,

I have been working out for several months, but my biceps don't get define like i want them. I do have muscle, but i just can't get that nice arm people have. What would you recommend i do?

Thanks in advanced.

I have the same question. My biceps seem to be "longer", maybe "fuller" than others I see - I can't get any definition either.

??

Definition is about lowering your body fat, and thus, diet is your answer.

Geesh, this again.

We are talking about disproportionate cut levels. I have triceps cut like rope... my biceps aren't there.

Genetics homeboy ... some guys get that veined cut look. Others don't unless they sprout 22" guns. I always win the stuffy at the carnival cuz I never look my weight. Use it as motivation to work your bi's overtime but work for power instead of looks. Just my humble opinion ...

I'll get there, homeboy, in style.

:D

the only time my biceps look actually cut are when im flexing or when im working out and myblood is pmping but if im jus standing there at some point throughout the day you cant really see any defintion what so ever... makes it a lil discouraging at times to be honest

hey a new member, you wont regret you came here, smartest people on training post here, good luck with your goals, read alot and you will learn alot here.

I was bowling one time... I actually saw some veins in my upper arms. I took some extra time trying to spare the 9 pins that were left in that frame (showing off my vascularity).

I was probably dehydrated from the 6 pitchers of beer I had. No, I didn't get the spare... but I did manage to knock down another pin. It was in the wrong lane though.

My 15 seconds of glory.

It's easier to recognize defintion in the triceps because there are three separate heads that all look quite different and are not as closer together as the two heads in your biceps.

Yes, but I've seen people with more BF and smaller biceps than I demonstrating a lot more separation in the bicep heads. Maybe, when I cut my BF a few percent... I'll see what I'm looking for?

Kind of a "minor" frustration for me.

well part of it is diet. Most of it is genetics.
Since I am tall guy, when I do I double bi shot, I hve some pretty decent sized softballs, but when I am standing relaxed, you only see the area where I am seperated. I want to put on mass so that when I do a standing relaxed it shows off more bicep. Which head should I exercise to accomplish that?

work on the head that's attached to your neck and you will figure out the answer to that question... ;)

I don't know if I'm super lucky in that respect or unlucky. I've got veins poping out like crazy and my arms aren't even that big. It's like more and more pop out every week. My forearms are crazy.

When i do rows my cephalic (bicep) vein pops out like a mo, if only it stayed like that.

p.s. the cephalic vein is quite possibly the coolest in the body, a clost second is the shoulder vein, think it may still be the cephalic or axillary : / God i hate forgettting all my anatomy.

You are new so all you need to be doing is big isolation movements. Definition is for the most part a good diet.

Could also be the way the muscles insert into the lower arm relative to one another. If they are very close together, then perhaps you need to be at uber-low body fat percentages to see definition? Dunno, that is just speculation.

Mine always stay out on the bicep. But the forearms for me are the biggest part of that, as I've said. I've probably got 20 veins in each forearm always popped out. One large one down each side of the biceps with smaller ones split off of them. If I take time off they tend to stop showing up a little, but never completley go away. But when I lift it's insane.

That's very cool.

i think the main reason for you (both) too have undefined biceps would be the length of the muscle, i can see this in jimsnows case anyway that the bicep is more af a elongated oval than a ball shape, if you look at for instance lou ferrignos biceps thye are huge, i think bigger than arnolds but they stretch the length of his whole arm almost, where as arnolds are curled up towards his shoulders producing a ball shape which is more defined, just an insight...i think you can froce the muscle to (ball) more by doing concentration curls and also really enphisize the squeeze at the height of the rep so when youve curled say the preacher bar to ur chin really flex and squeeze the muscle in its flexed state. just my thoughts

Good insight on the inherent muscle shape. Too bad it can't be changed with training.

which probably explains why I have a "ball-like" bicep, as opposed to the other oval. I think and I might be wrong, that if a muscle has a longer "distance" to travel, ie, a tall person instead of a short person's arms, the ball/oval would be better emphasized.

i too am taller than most and am having the same problem. although i know my 16.5" arms are not huge they look pretty good but someone shorter with the same size arm actually looks bigger and i hate it!!! i will probably need like 20's to look like i have big arms..
