Words you see mispelled or used incorrectly.

Let's not forget not and knot.
And need I add need, knead, and kneed?

I confuse belt and belch; I'm also irretarded.

I dont agree,, if you say "I couldnt care less", it means that you were not caring for a while but you reached a limit. If you say, "I could care less", it means that you dont care so much for something that even if you are not caring for it for a long time, you can still make an effort and care a little bit less.

someone on here has a little neice that said "i couldn't want to care" or something like that. i thought it was great. :nerd:

You mentioned this once before. I still think it's one of the greatest phrases I've ever heard.

I was thinking the same thing.

Double negatives piss me off, along with fragmented sentences.

I was fucking with someone with a jersey accent the other day. She said something broke on her car, but she didnt say pARt nor cAR. She said "pot" then "cah." I asked her to spell it. :D

Placements of "me" and "I" in speech and in sentences.

Nikegurl. "I can't care," I believe.

My word is patronize. People always say it the kind way when meaning to use the unkind meaning. Both have their own pronunciation.
1. To act as a patron to; support or sponsor.
2. To go to as a customer, especially on a regular basis.
3. To treat in a condescending manner.

than and then

its and it's - it's tricky because usually the possessive has the apostrophe but in this case the possessive is the 'its' and the one with the apostrophe is the conjunction.

i also find it funny how everyone's grammar and punctuation is so perfect when these types of threads come up.

Who the hell wants to get bashed for bad grammar in a grammar thread?

Eye four won halve know caws two czech.

i just find it funny because the people with perfect grammar on these threads will complete fuck it up two threads down.

personally, i try to write coherently but i can't be bothered with overthinking my grammar on an internet forum. i do enough of that shit for school, i just want my posts to be readable.

reminds me of something my nephew said when he was 3.

he meant "i don't care" he came out with "i can't want to care"

i love that. it's worse than not caring. it's not even aspiring to care.

i tell people all the time.... i can't want to care. :angel2:

:clapping: thanks.

"banned" : "bant"

OK, someone explain "whilst" to me please.

loose and lose !

people on here always say "I want to loose weight"

"its" vs "it's" messes me up all of the time.
"that's vs "that is"

Sayings that people misuse that piss me off.
"I could care less" when they mean to say "I couldn't care less". To say you could care less insinuates that you in fact do care and could care less than you currently do

"that's" and "that is" is the same thing lol, just like "it is" and "it's" :thumb:

"death nail"
"all intensive purposes" ( I saw that one in a tax article written by a CPA)

My pet peeve is people who say "out of pocket" when they mean "out of touch." Out of pocket means you are spending money, not that you are in the woods for the day.

you don't see this on forums too much, but I hear it alot:

"Did yous (talking to 2 people) miss the bus?"

"Yous" is not plural for "you", lol.
"you" can be plural or singular.

it's supposed to be "Did you two miss the bus?"

Yous is a classic New York/PA/NJ slang, which I can't fuckin stand...

I've had this debate with my friends back home in New Jersey. They think "yous" makes more sense than "y'all." I think y'all makes way more sense, at least it makes an attempt at "you all". Yous is just ridic.

We had a Senior Manager that would say "physical year" instead of "fiscal year" and you could often notice clients grinning about it but she NEVER ONCE said "fiscal year." I am sure someone, somewhere had to say "hey, it's FISCAL year, not physical year!"
