Ok, i work at a small mom and pop cafe, and they supposedly have really good italian coffee. I want to drink it but dont want to add sugar or splenda or cream. Would a scoop of chocolate whey make ti taste like a chocolate mocha or something?

i throw cappuccino, espresso, or coffee in shake all the time when i'm scheduled for a shake and want some caffeine to wake up or what not. makes it taste rather good.

I added whey powder to some coffee in place of a creamer once. It did not turn out well if I recall. I have not done it since. Now adding coffee to a shake is prolly a better idea or a shot or 2 of expresso. Just to awaken the senses. :rocker:

o so add coffe or a shot of espresso to a already mixed chocoalte whey shake?

Standard Mix

I use Cafe DuMond 3X as the base for a vanilla flavored Whey sup shake THAT also includes my basic pre-workout sups (arginine, histidine, a few Bs, couple of grams of C, etc, etc). I throw everything in the blender at 5 AM, chug it, and spend the next 40 or so minutes having nice warmup time with my wife. There is nothing better to make you hot enough for cold iron than preparing for it, having a few samples of it, and hitting the bench with heavy measles across your back and chest and a real NEED. She plays the game really good because she likes the results. So I drag myself away to the iron and loud rock unless we get totally crazy and she (155) holds me (220)down. Otherwise that seems to be the best way to train - MWF. Or MTTS just to throw us both off.

The cost is minimal. Try it and see if you like it. Let us know if you like it.

I find coffe makes whey 'curdle' and cuagulate. Leaving chewy peices of whey through out the shake. The taste would be great if the interaction of whey and coffee didnt fuck the texture.

Who knows though, might just be the coffee they have here at work and my brand of whey.

No that's happened to me as well. I've never considered trying the other way around though. Thoroughly mix the whey first then add coffee. The hot coffee would likely bring the whey out of suspension and curdle it.

I did have some success using a hand blender/chopper to mix the whey in coffee. That evened things things out. Taste was pretty good actually using ON's chocolate.

I have had some luck when the coffee is warm not hot. I think really hot coffee is what causes the change in the whey.

Mmmm, good! Especially, when the sticky protein lodges in your throat and you hack like a "hair-balled cat". Adding protein to coffee is kinda 'hardcore'?

LOL. I'm sure everybody thought of that.

So, unless I am missing something here, you guys are throwing something hot into something cold? Thus, drinking something luke warm?

Damn.

I hate drinking my shakes when theyre not ice cold and I usually use milk. But throwing an espresso in there... Are you guys waiting until the coffee is colder?
