Whats a good source of protein you good eat post workout that works just as well as whey if you dont have any protein powder at the time?

Chicken, fish, steak, egg whites,..... anything lean and high in protein.

Milk, tuna... blended if you want.

tuna and milk blended... Id give that a miss,

All of the above are good sources of protein, my preference would be egg whites as they are quickly digested/absorbed compared to most non-whey protein sources.

Egg whites are your best option for fast absorption if you don't have any whey.

just the egg whites? why not the whole egg or are the yoks to high in fat

Yeah the yolks are high in fat (especially the cholesterol ridden saturated kind), but also contain alot of the nutrients that make eggs worth eating.

As a post workout meal, the just whites are a good idea because your really looking for protien anyway. Plus I think the fat in the yolk would probably slow protien absorbtion.

Otherwise, if your gonna eat say 6 eggs, id eat 2-3 whole eggs then eat just the whites of the rest

Dietary cholesterol has no effect on blood cholesterol levels. Egg yolks are healthy in moderation ie. 2 per day...

And..........you don't want the fat PWO so that's why only go with the egg whites. Also, as said above, whey is cheaper.
