im just wondering if there are any exercises you guys like to do every day? (as either a warm up or as a routine, not running...)

Listen too your body, it will tell you when it needs a down day. Stay active and stay strong.

yeah I jump rope as a warm up and even between sets of heavy lifting.......

I do the food curl a few times daily.

crunches are great and give me an awesome burn...I'm currently trying to get a six pack so I do these 2x a day. So far my results suck though....I don't get it.

Well I know you know why... you know that we know you know... know.. that... know........ you... abs... you know

anyways, what i was trying to tell you, was that a strong core is so much better than a ripped-six pack. ill take a balanced core that could take a beating all day long any day!
2x a day must be getting you into the higher rep counts, i imagine. AKA the real gains ehhh? ehhhhhh?

I stretch every day and foam roll almost every day depending how tight I feel. Sometimes my workouts are 3-4 hours (not lifting of course) and it's required for maintenance.

 Maybe over training them.

do cable crunches .....and no need for abs work every day..3-4 days per week with variable intensity and reps ...is fine to strengthen your core .....any way abs work won't help you get your six pack showing ....

Yes they will if you are skinny and have low bodyfat.

cable crunches arent going to do much for core strength

No matter what you're doing that is an absolutely ludicrous amount of time!

no it isn't. Have you ever trained for a marathon? A triathalon? A bike race?

Different goals yield different training programs. You need to know what you are talking about before being so "absolute" like that.

What about football mini camps? Those guys train for a few hours. Then sometimes they have to go lift also.

A lot of strength coaches work with their guys for 90min-2 hrs in order to focus on a variety of different things.

You just need to know the goals.

Jumping Jacks, shadow boxing, jump roping, light cardio, push ups, and just keeping my movement up between sets. This is for me personally as I am on a major cut. As P-Funk "The Ox" Funkalicios :D said, it all depends on the goals and your body.

Ahh yes, and crunches. I try to do some sets of crunches a sit-ups every day, usually at the end of my workout.

sarcasm?

anyways, twice a day is overkill. Try 3-4 times a week of weighted ab work

Wow, people thought I was serious......:(

My sarcasm is so subtle sometimes I don't even get it.

True, p-funk. I was thinking about bodybuilding/strength training only.

Oh and everyone that posted something about abs in this thread (except griffin) should do a search. ;)

I know what you were thinking. I also know that ponyboy is an endurance athlete.

That is why you can't speak in absolutes. ;)

Exactly...you're right if I'm lifting - that would be stupid. Not if I'm running 20km and then biking for another couple of hours like I do on a fairly regular basis. :thumb:

It's freaking -12 and I'm about to head out for 16km...I think I'm crazy but I have an attractive female running partner for motivation.
