so I'm all settled now in Glendale, AZ...on N. 79th ave by arrowhead mall and this temp is killing me.

Today hasn't been to bad, but I moved in at 105F on Wednesday:eek: It sucked big time. I visited my univeristy a few times(Thunderbird school of global mgmt) and I hope it worth student loans...grad school tuition is no joke. I could have bought a house:(

anyway, the people here seem pretty friendly, but I do miss the city life a little bit. Its kind of wierd in Suburbia but at least Phoenix traffic isn't so bad...bad in terms of volume. Thats one thing I don't miss about Chicago; however, the people here don't seem to know how to drive very well and NO ONE seems to speed more than 10 over. I guess having photo enforcement every 2miles on the 101 doesn't help:wits:

Any glendale/peoria people here recommend a good gym? What is there to do downtown phoenix? what are the good spots? too bad there is no train system here...I guess that means 50 dollar cab ride back to the burbs when going out DT.

I'm pretty bored since classes don't start for while still and I don't know anyone in this state...being a few miles away from campus is prolly a negative too, but the neighborhood there didn't really seem too pleasant.

One thing I do love is that EVERY place seems to have a pool here:) even my freaking university has a pool in the middle of the quad in between all the dorm:D

On the upside, it'll keep your vagina dry.

;)

My daughter lives in Scottsdale - she loves it! I like to visit there, but can't get over the rock & cactus landscaping... I know, I know, it's eco friendly....

My son was down there in... in Glendale... his truck got stolen... twice :(

Glendale has too many Mexicans.

How many days have you been here? It's Monsoon season. This isn't normal weather by any means. I haven't seen it this humid since I've been here. 105 with a little humidity is worse than when it's 117 dry.

I noticed a few IM's living in Arizona.

Thats cause we are starting a healthy living movement...

Soon we will run out all the fatasses, mormons, and illegals
then this will be Eden!

Oh, yeah...
We have to Oust Foreman also - :hehe:

I knew about the other stuff but I never knew Foreman was a morman.

drop by our facility next time you are in scottsdale!

I like Scottsdale. The streets are clean and utilities are underground. It's very nice. It's to hot for me though.

I'd be more pro-active in moving to Arizona if it wasn't for the Draconian system of photo radar and the over abundance of assholes from California.

let me know how you adjust...I'm looking to move to the Mesa/Scottsdale area in the spring.

NC is like that this week. Today/tomorrow is 100/102 with a heat index of about 109!

ok. I was promised that someone in this thread is "hot" and there's no pics. Just a lot of text. What gives?

Hawaii is kind of like that too, it's 87 today and should be 87 tomorrow and the next day....but it gets to like 92 in my car after sitting in the sun all day....

Good luck in Thunder Bird school.. great school to Grads :)

Not really, most of us are in the east valley.

none of us live in scottsdale actually (I work there though).

I don't even know what the east valley is? Mesa?

Does that make me (79thave by the 101) the northvalley?:hmmm:

I guess for now I'm just going to use the crumby univeristy gym....I've been outta the gym for over a year anyway, so I have a lot of basic work to make up for.

It's 105 here.

I've never been to Phoenix but I've been to Flagstaff and Kingman. Flagstaff was not too bad, but I hated Kingman.

This is nothing. When I moved here it hit 122 that day.

$50 cab rides when going out DT... well 2 things are wrong with that.

1) Everyone just drinks and drives here
2) Downtown is dead, why would you want to go there?

Most of the good (or trendy) clubs are either in Scottsdale or Tempe.... a long way from 79th Ave. Although you do have McDuffy's off of Bell and 84th ave or something like that.
