so I'm all settled now in Glendale, AZ...on N. 79th ave by arrowhead mall and this temp is killing me.
Today hasn't been to bad, but I moved in at 105F on Wednesday
It sucked big time. I visited my univeristy a few times(Thunderbird school of global mgmt) and I hope it worth student loans...grad school tuition is no joke. I could have bought a house
anyway, the people here seem pretty friendly, but I do miss the city life a little bit. Its kind of wierd in Suburbia but at least Phoenix traffic isn't so bad...bad in terms of volume. Thats one thing I don't miss about Chicago; however, the people here don't seem to know how to drive very well and NO ONE seems to speed more than 10 over. I guess having photo enforcement every 2miles on the 101 doesn't help
Any glendale/peoria people here recommend a good gym? What is there to do downtown phoenix? what are the good spots? too bad there is no train system here...I guess that means 50 dollar cab ride back to the burbs when going out DT.
I'm pretty bored since classes don't start for while still and I don't know anyone in this state...being a few miles away from campus is prolly a negative too, but the neighborhood there didn't really seem too pleasant.
One thing I do love is that EVERY place seems to have a pool here
even my freaking university has a pool in the middle of the quad in between all the dorm
