In short I had my rotator cuff operated on in 2000, but I was doing declines DB presses yesterday and felt pain in it. So I stopped immediately and when it hurt for several hours I called my doc. Long story short (if its not too late), its inflamed again and is hurt but nothing torn. So no surgery.

Both times I've hurt it, I was doing decline DB presses, so those are permanently off the menu. I like how they hit my lower chest though. What are some other ways I can get that effect but take stress off my shoulder?

I'm with Witchblade, lay off it. When I injure myself, I usually give myself 1 month off.

It pays to give yourself plenty of time. I pulled a muscle in my lumbar, took a month off, and did a PR in Back Squats the first workout.

I've seen that too at times. After a couple week break I get back in there and I'm stronger. Its like the muscles had time to repair themselves.

Yeah, take the time off. I pulled a back muscle yesterday and I'm taking, at least, a week off, but I may take longer. Last year I injured my rotar cuff and I took a month off. I went back and I've had no problems, at all, since.

Rotator cuff is serious buisness though, as can anything else be, so adequate rest should be applied as mention above given the seriousness and situation.

Yeah I'm going to just do the cardio the next two weeks and lower body weight training. I don't want to injury the shoulder further.

Easy enough then. If it doesn't bother you train around it. Cardio and leg stuff.

Yeah my man point of the thread was asking what excercises should I avoid in order to prevent this from happening. In other words, what excercises are prone to causing rotator cuff problems?
