boxing is one of the most cardio demanding activities i have ever done. theres a ratio for how much time it takes you to run a mile and how many rounds you could last. i would say hit the cardio hard (if you want to get serious into bouts and whatnot) and a lot of jump rope. it will train you to have quick feet which leads to being able to throw more planted and powerful punches

I been to a few Gyms in my area most of them are pretty intense I think its probably the best cardio conditioning I have ever done or heard of in my life. I played basketball and wrestled for high school and for clubs and when I got in to my first boxing class I done in like ¾ of the warm-up + conditioning and when we went to practice form and stance I was so tired that I couldn???t keep my hands up for like the first 20 mins. It prolly differs from gym to gym but no doubt its good shit.

It is very intense - I think if you went to most boxing gyms you find it light on the weights and more cardio focussed - big muscled boxers tend to flag because their bodies need so much oxygen - lean is mean in boxing!

If never step into a boxing gym......But I have done street boxing several times and I can say it really wore me out.

Boxing weight programs are usually pretty strict. Talk to a trainer in your area and/or pick-up a book written by someone credible. There are a few good ones out there.
