Idiot. How will you "protect the American people" without a powerful defence? R&D is mandatory to keep ahead of the threats, and develop new and better ways to support and protect our troops when they go in harms way. Any veteran, military dependent, or other person in someway supported through the Department of Defense is an idiot to vote for Obama.

Sure, R & D is important to continue. What we do not need is to be spending more money on our military than the rest of the world combined. That seems retarded and excessive. Instead, how about we balance the budget. The deficit is a far greater threat than anything we face militarily.

you do realize all the benefits society gets from defense R&D like nuclear power, Styrofoam, the internet, the microwave....the list goes on.

Defense spending in R&D should be upped in my opinion...its the spending on service contractors that fleece cost plus contracts. I'm sure you can deduce which contractors those are.

There is a difference b/t RTN and HAL...and organizations like DARPA pioneer all types of applicable tech.

Oh I'm all for increasing funding for research agencies like DARPA and NASA. The amount we spent on those agencies is a drop in the bucket compared to the overall military that I feel should be pared down.

For the record I think both Obama and McCain are douches, I would have loved to see Ron Paul win the republican nomination.

And Al Gore invented the Internet, not DARPA........right? :D

A large percentage of people in the Military are voting for Obama.

Also, R & D is $$$ for the Military-Industrial complex which is very powerful.

Don't be fooled.

Also, do you think a foreign country is dumb enough attack the US? Quite laughable.

All the commercial business contracts are getting cancelled
because its costing so much to get global sources
to pass safety certs...

I have to ask the various Obama supporters:
Do you support Obama because he's not Bush or McCain, or do you honestly believe the line of bullshit and rhetoric he's hawking?
Do you sincerely believe he's an agent of 'change' and that he's not just like every other politician out there?

I dont support McCain or Obama. you should here my friends talk about Obama like hes the second coming of Christ. These same friends dont know shit about politics, they dont even know about the Russia Georgia stuff. This shit is really annoying now.

That's the most frustrating part of it for me, too. :(

He's an agent of something.

I only know that all these countries he is so fond of, sure don't like english speakers

He's smart he just says what tards want to hear. He's going for the tard vote. You think we would not keep our place in the World, you less than tard racists?

I've found that 95% of people who talk like that couldn't name 5 differences between the parties.

So am I in the 5% then?

The current incarnation of the Republican party is a waste of votes. If we had a true traditional Republican running, then we would be in business. McCain is a moron though. He has given rambling and/or cookie cutter answers to absolutely everything in addition to using tactics straight out of the Karl Rove playbook.

Of course you are in the 5%. You're informed: 95% of those voting aren't, in my opinion.

I'm not happy about the state of the Republican party either, but when a man like Obama standing on the other side prepped to make potentially several supreme court appointments, it's not a hard decision for me to make.

I fundamentally disagree with practically ever Democratic position: Abortion, government run health care, not privatizing social security, strong defense, fairness doctrine, raising taxes, affirmative action, gun control, drilling for oil, punishing people for being rich, bigger government, welfare... and on, on.

I may not be happy with the Republicans, but currently you have one choice if you vote for President: Democrat or Republican. Anything else absolutely is a waste. I always vote, so my choice will always be Republican, despite their failings.

Explain to me how my vote is a waste if I'm voting for the candidate that is more in line with my views than someone who opposes everyone of them.

You just vote differently than I do, that is all. You vote mainly on party lines, I vote mainly on principals. McCain has shown himself to be two faced and deceitful numerous times, and Obama I just plain disagree with the majority of the time. That is why I am basically throwing my vote away by voting Ron Paul; it may mean nothing in the end, but at least my conscience is clean knowing that I did what I thought was right.

It doesn't help that McCain has been incompetent at the majority of the things that he has done in life. For example, it doesn't help the the "foreign relations expert" in this race doesn't know the difference between Sunni and Shiite, or that Iraq does not in fact border Afghanistan.

I'm more against McCain than I am "for" Obama.

In politics and government just like in business you need to have a vision, but you also need to be open to new ideas. Just because something isn't in line with your views doesn't make it a bad idea, it might just be different than how you would have done it (and it may even be more successful).

That said Obama still hasn't shown how he would pay for any of his ideas. Just trying to flame each candidate 50/50 here :)

I see what you're saying, but I'd still say I vote on party lines because of principals. :)

Wouldn't that make him two-faced & deceitful?

Not necessarily. He is more of an idealist, but his ideas aren't realistic. Being two-faced or deceitful would entail him doing or saying one thing and then doing the exact opposite.

I would lean more towards Obama being inexperienced and unfit (surprise?) than being two-faced or deceitful like McCain has been.

That's one thing I like about Ron Paul. He has always said things like "here is my idea, and here is precisely how we are going to execute it or find funds for it". The difference between RP's idealism and Obama's in my mind is that RP's idealism has historical significance - he is basing a lot of his ideas off of the failures and successes of past governments. Past that, he advocates running our government the way the Constitution says it should be run; we haven't really had a strict constitutional government in a century.

Whoops just a correction: McCain spoke about the Iraq/Pakistan border, not the Iraq/Afghanistan border (although Iran is the separating country for both in any case)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but "running the government the way the Constitution says it should run" means only allowing the federal government powers expressly stated for it in the Constitution. doesn't it? how then are any of obamas programs valid if that is the case? I don't see how anything obama has said speaks for him believing this. I'm curious to see how obamas form of socialism fits in with a limited federal government.

Is it possible McCain misspoke the same way you just did?

How the fuck would Obama have any power in what other nation states do with their nukes? Jesus Christ, I wish he would stop talking stupid shit before he drives me back to the darkside.

I was clearly referring to Ron Paul with that statement.

That is just one example of his incompetence, there are many others. That and comparing me to someone who is trying to run our country, well, might not be the best comparison?

I was clearly referring to Ron Paul with that statement. yet since you seem to have the reading comprehension of a second grader you are unable to realize that.

whoa, whoa, whoa. calm down there cinderella. clearly my mistake. turns out at midnight your coach turns back into a pumpkin. kind of like the potential presidency of ron paul.

now you may have just had a bad day. and if that is the case im sorry for adding fuel to the fire by not taking the time to understand your post. you really do need to chill before you go off posting like a jack ass though.
