lonestar, bitch.
So, before i ask this question, let it be known that i used the Search button to see if it has been posted before, and nothing has come up on here like my problem.

Anywho, when i do any heavy training for Tri's, i.e. (DB press, Dips), when i am extending my arm straight again after bending it, there's a large pop (not so much a noise, but i feel it) either in my elbow or right above it. It doesn't really hurt, as it does not impede on my workouts, but i definitely do not think this should be happening.

This only happens on my right Tri, and has been occurring lately, but NOT every single time. I stretch effectively pre/post workout.

Anyone know what's up?

i have that same problem, but when was caused from fighting this fat ass fell on me and it like hyper extended my elbow. that sucker swoul up and couldnt move my arm. now i have that popping and grinding. mines from torn ligaments or tendons. i dont know what yours would be from. maybe just an irritation in the elbow.

I have popping but not grinding, or at least i don't think so.

So your elbow has been popping ever since? Does it prevent you from lifting heavier or limit any exercises?

somtimes when i go heavy or just realy hard i can tell my elbow starts getting like tired. it does not want to perform, and at the beginning of my workouts I have to make sure it is warmed up, then I can go. Somedays it interferes and some it doesn't. When it bothers me more than just the normal aches, I take a little bit of time and let it recover.

and yeah it has been poping for about 5 years now. got it in the shoulder, knees, ankles, my right hand (broke 5 times) all at the age of 28....... damn im falling apart!!! lol

Damn bro, that sucks.

**UPDATE**

Was doing Straight bar Curls, and when i was done i noticed a sharp pain in both forearms. Now, i know a lot have people have had this happen and that's not really my main concern because i can just do some research on that later and save y'all some time.

However, after that, i decided to quit curls and do some Tricep pushdowns. Immediately, after my first set, i have a sharp pain in my LEFT(not right) Tri/elbow. It hurts pretty bad, along with my forearm. I can't apply much pressure to my left arm (i.e. leaning against a wall with my left arm) because it starts to shake(pain/weak feeling). Anyone know what the hell is going on?

You are being a puss! Is it like a cramping pain?? Try using the EZ bar, see if that helps you turd

Bitch i don't got an EZ bar at home otherwise i wouldn't use straightbar in the first place :p

And no, not cramping pain. More like a sharp pain in the elbow when i flex/bend it. The pain has subsided a little bit, but still, a diagnosis if possible would be helpful.

why dont you rest it for a week and see how it is?

that would be the logical first step

'Tis what i plan to do. Maybe :p

I just didn't know if any of the other members have had the same experience.

maybe its your ligaments/tendons???
i tried doing wrist curls with 17.5's (2.5kg more than i curl) and i got the sharp pain in the lower part of my forearm (closest to hand) and im guessing its weak ligament strength because it felt like a tear

Maybe. I've yet to do the research on why Straight bar causes pain in the forearms for some people. Once i solve that i'll have a better understanding of what's up.

But as my knowledge stands now, doing some forearm workouts to strengthen it sounds logical.

yeah... exercising a group of muscles in pain sounds logical....

take a week off

do some squats if you can bare the down time

leave your arms alone for a bit
address the weakness after a recovery period

I meant when i'm healthy, doing some strengthening exercises could help prevent. Sorry for the misleading statement.

I think the straight bar thing is more of a flexibility issue maybe. If you hold a straight bar in the curl position it's already awkward and if your wrists/forearms are not flexible enough then putting strain on them by contracting the muscles maybe causing the pain.

Does it feel like someone is twisting your arm??

As for the clicking sound, maybe it's just your bones in an odd position to one another idk i get it sometimes in my shoulder but it goes away. Maybe its your muscles pulling the bone to one side more than the other, like you know when they suggest to do light horizontal and vertical pulls on your push days and vice versa because of the strain on your RC. Something like that just speculating.
