I'm surprised that I rarely see mentions of Tricare - the government's insurance program for the military and their families which is supposed to extend to non-military hospitals. If you compare the cost of war to the cost of the health bill and its likely affect on the average American, it doesn't seem to be too expensive to provide such a fundamental service. Of course that's a fallacy to make a direct comparison that implies if we can afford one we can afford the other, especially considering the war was paid for with borrowed money.
