Angelina Jolie 'hates' President Barack Obama:

maybe jen wrecked her own home by not being able to keep her man or refusing to start a family. and i agree, you don't mess with a married man but the bigger fault is with the one who betrayed his vows.

You know a statement like that is a slippery slope. What is next, the woman down the street asked to be raped because she wore a mini skirt and refused to dance with men at the bar!!!

And yes, billy bob is a douche.

I think Angelina Jolie is an incredible humanitarian. She has done so much good. She adopts needy children.

"She's into education and rehabilitation and thinks Obama is all about welfare and handouts.

I see something wrong here....This is going to sound a little ignorant and insensitive but how can she say that Obama is all about welfare and handouts when she is doing the same thing for people in other countries? I dont know much about her but if Im not mistaken she spends a lot of money in other countries building things for the needy and adopting children in need...

Those are handouts....? :hmmm:

No no no, its only a hand out if it comes from the government and it comes out of glenn becks pocket. These guys complain about handouts so much but there are so many loopholes in taxes for them

There is a large difference between an individual choosing to give their money to a particular group of people or cause and the government forcibly taking your money via taxation and giving it to people or causes that you may not support or believe in.

You dont HAVE to pay taxes. Forcibly is a bit much.

Try it sometime. Let me know how much you're fined or how much jailtime you get.

Yes there is the legendary "No law actually exists!" idea, but in practice that doesn't seem matter to the courts or IRS.

I didnt say there were not consequences, but you make it sound like its the end of the world. People do it all the time, but they have to pay the piper. Ving Rhanes or whatever his name is, is the latest of celebrities to be hounded by the IRS. No one has to do anything, but it is understood their are consequences.

I understand and Im not going trying to get into politics here but the separation between rich and poor is way out of hand and the greedy are ruining this country for everyone else, if it just as easy as taking our money back then I would be for that, if our government has to do it for us then so be it...

I think a Robin Hooding (if you will) is in order right about now, and hopefully a lot of "handouts" goto the middle class...and by "handouts" I mean the money they rightfully work hard for and should get anyway...

I might not be reading into the handouts comment the right way, maybe by handouts she means giving money to failing businesses who got to greedy and needed bailout money?

In which case I agree with her, they shouldnt have handed out money to them

...so...you are saying that you think it is ok for the government to punish the successful and give to people who have not gained the same level of succes? bull shit

That's a seriously flawed way of thinking. Do you think a dishwasher should earn the same income as a neuro surgeon?

Trust me, I think our government is seriously screwed up and things need to change. Taking money from successful people 'because they can afford it'...is BS.
If I were WEALTHY...I'd be doing the same as the rest: I'd be moving my wealth off shore and hiding it.

Tell you what. If you want to be wealthy, be wealthy. MOST of the wealthy people have done something to attain that income.
Whether by business or entertainment, they have 'made it'.
If you have a skill or a niche that gets you that brass ring, go for it.
Me? I'm in computers. I can make a fairly decent income. I'll never be movie star/rock star/Donald Trump rich, and I'm good with that.

I've done and am doing certain things to get where I'm at and where I want to be, such as most here.
Robin Hood? Fuq him. I'm not busing my ass to get where I'm going to have the government give my hard earned money to the lazy and illegal. They did nothing to earn that money and they aren't entitled to it. They want money, go fuqqin EARN it.
This is America. (if you are in America) You have every ability to be as rich or poor as YOU want.
Quit bitching about the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer.
I believe everybody should pay their fair share. I like the idea of a flat tax. everybody pays the same, no matter what their income, doctors and dishwashers alike. I don't have an economics background, so I do not know if that would work.

getting off my soap box now. Thus endith my rant :run:

the problem is a lot of rich people get rich off of robbing poor and middle class people making them poor, but there aren't laws against the kind of robbing they do, if the poor rob the rich then they goto jail for it...

but we have to deal with it, and that is the way it is, and we can't do anything about it, how piss poor is it that that is the way people have to think....?

and it is true, you cant be blind enough to not see this

and an easy way for them to get away with it boils down to pretty much one quote "Nobody said life was fair."

and people just accept it....

Im not saying that if I made a lot of money a legal and MORAL way that I wouldnt want to keep it, but they way a lot of big businesses, more especially banks nickle and dime and steal peoples money, I dont have much of a problem with the government doing it back to them....They are the only people with the power to do it, so yes, exercise that muscle and protect the rest of America other than the rich.

again I stress, a few very greedy people have to ruin it for everyone

Well said Burner,

I make a very nice living myself in the offshore oil industry. Yes I make quite a bit more than the average american, BUT, I am separated from my family for 2 weeks out of every month. That is the trade off. I spend time away from my children, so that I can provide a better life for them.

I have no problem paying my taxes. I love my country, and don't mind paying my fair share, but paying a higher percentage than some dope smoker at Burger King? Pffft... That's garbage.

Robin hood my ass. Its not like I am silver spoon-born to priviledge. I work my ass off in piss poor conditions away from my family to make the money I do, and I deserve every bit as much of a percentage of my dollar as any asshole that gets to hug his kids every night and cry about how poor he is and how bad everything is.

ANYONE can work out here and make a good living. Hell, I think our roustabouts start out in the mid fifties, and that is a no education manual labor job that we have a bunch of 18 year olds doing, yet everyone wants to cry about being broke and how unfair everything is, and just wait on some political white horse to take money away from hard working slobs like me and put in it their pockets for them.

You want more money? Go MAKE more money. I am not being pedantic, it is out there waiting to be made, people just need to get off their asses and do it. If the job is too hard, or being out here is too rough, I understand, but dont tell me that I should pay more taxes than the pussies that couldn't make it.

A LOT of factory workers work just as hard and under the same circumstances as you, but they probably dont get paid nearly as well

also employees at a lot of places could be paid better...

Times like these are proving the American business model isnt even close to being perfect, how do these massive companies go bankrupt? Where the fuck did all that money they made go throughout the years?

There is making money and there is taking waaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy more fucking money than you need or deserve....

You are thinking a bit simple about it, or Im not explaining myself well enough...

Im not saying the rich should be taxed more, Im not sure how we got to that conclusion I guess I missed that part, Im more interested in regulating bank executives and the like....

but I do strongly believe the middle class gets fucked over the most in this country and do deserve a break....I dont know why you assume the middle class isnt hard working...?

anyways Im tired and not following this discussion clearly, but I support a lot of what I hear about our government so far, Im glad they have the balls to go after the crooks who have been doing shady shit for years and getting away with it, they are just as much criminals as any criminal behind bars, and that is where they belong.

I doubt those factory workers have ridden out a hurricane on a floating skillet, but I get your point. What I am saying is that I could just as easily be working at that same factory, making the same money as them, being home with my family and being broke. This is a choice and sacrifice that I choose to make.

However the flip side of the coin is the same thing. They could just as easily work out here and make good money by sacrificing time away from their families and working in a more dangerous environment.

So me complaining about being away from my family holds about as much water as them complaining about having no money! Its all in the choices we make. The difference is, no one is championing us, and because we have money, we are constantly made out to be the bad guys, and are forced to shoulder MORE than our equal percentage of the taxation burden.

My whole point is that it isn't fair. Just because I make a decent living, doesn't mean that I should have to pay a higher percent than the average person on my taxes.

This country is supposed to be about equal treatment, but apparently if you are wealthy, you don't deserve equality, because you obviously can "afford" to pick up the slack of those who have made different choices in life.

I agree with you that the CEO's and bankers and bailouts and so on are ridiculous, and are ruining the economy. The greatest failure of capitalism is at work right there...greed.

No way to fight against it except with your checkbook. Don't support companies that use business ethics you don't support. Government intervention is not the right answer.

While i wont side with either of you, we have one problem that isnt really being addressed they way it should, OUTSOURCING. I think this is an issue with a lot of companies that make it big in the United States. If you have your main HQ out of the country you are not required to pay United States taxes. Sure you will have to pay tariffs and importing fees but compared to the piss poor working conditions and pay of third world countries its cheaper than doing it right where it counts in the first place.

On a serious note, would an orgy be considered socialism?

...I'm in Afghanistan. So far in the 11 months I've been here, have been thru 3 earthquakes, 2 car bombs (one less than 300 yards from office) and a RPG attack.
But, as you, I'm making more $$ here than I would be at home. AND! With the economy as crappy as it is, I may be here for say...3 years to ride it out so I can come home to an income.

It all depends on where the bulk of the end product ends up, it just might be FACISM.....
