I've read that Roman deadlifts are primarily for quads. I was thinking about adding them to a leg day. Is this correct?

You mean Romanian Dead Lifts?

If you do them right, they are primarily moved by hamstrings.

Romanian deadlifts mostly remove the quad emphasis from a traditional deadlift.

If you want to stimulate quads, front squat.

Anyone Ever do Deads where the bar goes between legs? We used to do them when I played football.

Romanian deadlifts are primarily for hamstrings/glutes.

Slightly different to stiff legged deadlifts as your knees are unlocked and your back is kept straight to take alot of focus of the lower back and put onto the hamys.

Great lift when done correctly, my hamys are sitll aching :)

..Hams from the floor. Moving onto rack deads, the emphasis moves more to the lower back AND hams due to the starting point and leverage.

Squats are quad-dominant.

Conventional deadlifts (i.e. from the floor in bent-over position) are ham/glute dominant but involve the quads secondarily (as the hams are in squats).

Romanians are ham/glute dominant and involve the quads secondarily, but less than conventional -- as there's less flexion in the knee.

Stiff-legged deadlifts (which are very similar to romanians) are ham/glute dominant and involve the quads secondarily, but even less than in romanians (only through isometric tension).

You Put your right foot in front of bar, left foot behind the bar and pick straight up. The bar is between your legs. We did them when I played football. Dont remember what they were called. Anyone ever heard of this, or is my Coach just crazy.

I thought this is a type of squat? I remember Gaz referring to them the other day. Kind of a variation of a hack squat.

Found them, They are called Jefferson Lifts. It said that they are more of a squat variation than a Lift variation.

Jefferson squats are great. Really tough on the quads, and i rarely feel any sort of lower back pressure. Good to sub in when you're squatting a lot and want a break from having a bar on your back.

Are there any exercises you haven't done?

Spider curls.

Because they're fucking ridiculous.

;)

Theres one i haven't had the courage to try out yet thats been on my list for a while, and thats the "barbell and dumbell anyhow". I'll see if i can dig out some pictures of it.
