Soon I will be starting a testprop/dbol cycle. From what I understand as long as I do proper PCT and my hormone levels go back to normal, my future natural gains will not be hindered. I've been told that steroids will make natural gains impossible but I can't find any evidence of this. Correct me if I'm wrong but as long as levels go back to normal after cycle, there will be no long-term consequences, and natural gains will be uneffected by AAS use. Am I right?

You're right, but only if you haven't reached ur natural limits prior to starting ur cycle. Ideally, steroids should be used only when your body has reached its natural max limit for growth(Not to be confused with platuas). If u haven't reached that yet, you still may have potential for results after you recover. Just expect to start loosing mass over several months post cycle before u can start making natural gains again. Side note: if you haven't reached your natural max potential don't mess with gear till you do.

Ultimately, it is diet and training that causes growth. AAS are merely a catalyst for protein synthesis and muscle growth. A STRONG catalyst, mind you, yet not a catch all.

Food is the most anabolic compound we can take. If you eat enough, you will grow...period.

I used AAS for many years prior to a shoulder injury. I took some time off to rehab, and slowly started training again. I trained natty for two-three years and made outstanding gains. I waited until my gains stalled and my natty potential was reached (5'10 203 10%BF) before jumping on AAS again.

Why take steroids when you are still growing naturally?

Totally illogical.

I'm pretty sure this would eliminate roughly 80% of steroid users

Not saying you're wrong though. I think if you're old/mature enough and somewhat close to you're natural potential, it's ok to start the gear.

Yea I agree, I would say closer to 90% of users start before they reach there natural potential. Me included.

If you start using before you are at least close to you natural limits you are only hinder your own gains in the future. Before I ever used steroids I was built better and stronger than many that were using for years. Once I started using I shot past where I had been stuck for the past 2-3 years. I am now growing again.

I was bigger and stronger in my 20s, my third decade of life, completely natural, benched 315 four times, but I am in my fifth decade of life, and I have not been able to get back to that level of strength (stuck at 275 for 5 reps or so). I am guessing it has to do with age and a decrease in test. Starting a cycle caused me to shoot past where I had been stuck naturally for years in just a couple of weeks. This seems to confirm that a man in his forties does not have as much test as a man in his 20s. I would say I was at a natural limit - limit that was less than what my natural limit was previously. This changes throughout your life. A 25 year old guy is going to be bigger and stronger in his late 20s, even if he thinks he is at his natural limit at 25. And he might even get stronger into his 30s, and at some point he will start tapering off.

Yes, it will happen to you, too. You will turn into the guy who is in great shape "for his age." LOL!

I'm 34 and I'm stronger than I was at 24. If you are consistent in your training, there is no reason why you can't keep making gains. And when you get to the point where your test starts to drop off...AAS. Obviously, as we approach 50's and 60's this may no longer apply, but we can still be way ahead of the curve.

This is the second time GeorgeFoemanRules has taken rep points from me for completly logical advice with no explaination for doing so. This time it was for this post. I messaged him several times asking for his reason but got no respose. If u don't agree have a discussion, and if you feel its bad enough to take rep points give a reason. I'm sick of this shit. Be a fucking man and speak up, not a passive aggressive fucking pussy that steals points for no reason.

Before I type im GREEN doing my FIRST CYCLE and look to alot of you for advice...... this is more questioning then disagreeing as I dont have enough experience with aas to disagree :nerd:

Speaking on BEFORE youve reached your natty potential

Assuming your diet, training and pct is on point why should you expect to lose mass over SEVERAL months after a cycle? Ive always read that ( again assuming your shits in order) your gains are just as good as if done natty. Im not talking about someone who has no idea how to train or eat, but someone who knows there shit and does a cycle before they have reached there natty limit, I would think be able to hang on to gains just as long as if done natty. After initial mass lost during pct.
