Iowa Football Squat program-

That's stupid, they should fire that coach. It's got to be counter productive to piss your muscles out haha.

You guys are fuk!n morons... chris doyle is and has been known as one of the better strength and conditioning coaches in college football for a while. He takes good to mediocre recruits and consistently pumps out better players with the talent given. B/c something happened and the media who is a bunch of puss!es writes a half assed article you think you know something about the situation. Get a fuk!n clue

His routine is loosely based for hypertrophy. For football or any strength athlete, wherein the reps should be short, explosive and brief depending on the season. The squat is the only thing that was intelligent about the entire routine. The other reason for the darkly colored urine is most likely because of dehydration. As a trainer and coach, whatever this meathead did was unacceptable as a professional.

HAHAHA.. i actually like the comebacks especially the internet tough guy one... didnt mean to offend all you sensitive people.. my point was he is known as one of the better strength and conditioning coaches in the country.. Im sure he knows what he is doing..and juggernaut, his routine?? you know his routine.. ive played college football there is no routine you have different training phases especially in the off season... If you dont know the story which none of us do... dont jump to conclusions because some jerkoff reporter who probably know's nothing about training athletes wrote an article.

Actually, I knew exactly what was given. I've trained several football players, developed routines for professional players and collegiate teams in Div 1 schools. Word gets around when stupidity is involved in schools on a big level.

Regardless of any knowledge of the prescribed workout, I can say that if what a coach is doing induces rhabdo, you're probably doing something wrong.

I do think there are times when athletes need to gain body mass.

Theres a line between a tough workout and just being stupid, and clearly pissing blood crosses that line...

Agreed gt, and like i mentioned depending on the time of the year. However, this coach is a complete shithead imbecile for doing this to the students. There's no reason to inflict this kind of abuse on clients or students. If my kid was subjected to shit like that, I'd beat the hell out of the coach. Period.

I believe it was meant to test the players to see if they were doing their prescribed routines over break while they were gone. It's not a staple year round and he has done this successfully for years. Why did this happen to so many kids this time but never before? I haven't the slightest idea

Thats why i am saying don't be so quick to blame the strength coach over one incident. And its annoying to see ppl make comments like his program sucks... If you have any level of intelligence in the area of strength and conditioning you won't assume that this is a regular routine... It could be as simple as a group of players went out the night before and got drunk then came in for the workout dehydrated and F'd themselves. I wasn't defending the strength coach or not defending him my point was stop listening to articles or something the media says like its the word of god, the media in general always has half the story and all of the bias.

Thats whats throwing me off. We use to squats with a plate for 5minutes and were supposed to complete as many as we can in those 5 minutes, and players were hitting the 100s. Why hasnt this happened before?

Iowa is soft :sorry:
