Sox, I don't follow you on this. The current Dalai Lama is one of the coolest mofos on the planet. The reverence people treat him with has very little to do with him. He is very down to earth. As mentioned before, he has traveled around the world to speak with great minds in an attempt to learn, share, and teach.
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to myCATpowerlifts again.

The Dalai Lama espouses many great idea. However, for a man that preaches equality, his society, pre-Chinese takeover, was a caste system. The poor were treated like shit.

How he was chosen is an awesome store, research it on your own.

Simple. He's an exemplary model of how a buddhist (or anyone for that matter) should act and behave in regards to how they treat the world and it's inhabitants.
Watch some of his videos. He's incredibly genuine.
Your problem: You're taking the reverence of others to this man, as blind dogma towards a "name" or "title". As if he were godlike.
And I can see why that would piss someone off, who knows nothing about him.
