"Human beings by nature want happiness and do not want suffering. With that
feeling everyone tries to achieve happiness and tries to get rid of suffering, and everyone has the basic right to do this. In this way, all here are the same, whether rich or poor, educated or uneducated, Easterner or Westerner, believer or non-believer, and within believers whether Buddhist, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, and so on. Basically, from the viewpoint of real human value we are all the same."--" dali lama
If everyone realized this we would all be better off. As an athiest, I find the tenets of buddism more condusive towards a world with less religous strife and less dogmatism towards each other( close behind it Bahais, QUakers and Unitarians), perhaps he can spread around buddistic philosophies that will temper the exclusionary "us vs. not us" in the abrahamic religions. We athiests know most of mankind's psyche is too weak to give up god altogether so this would be a good logical step in decreasing one of the major reasons for conflict ( behind scarcity of resources etc.)
