My left iliopsoas has been hurting for over a month, I thought it was gonna get better but it still hurts. I haven't done anything to treat it so far. It only hurts when I do squats, it's really hard, really compromises my hip mobility.
I tried to stretch the area but nothing happened. Should I see a doctor?

I am quite sure it's sartorius not psoas, upper quad, I have pain when I bring the knee to my chest.

How do you know your iliopsoas is the culprit?

How much do you sit throughout the day?

Actually I am not sure, did some anatomy research and it looks like it's sartorius not iliopsoas.
I sit a lot, I have a sedentary life. (student)

It would be best to get assessed by someone who understands the relationship between movement and pain. A good physical therapist or manual therapist would be your best bet.

Have you done any simple stretching exercises for the muscles you think are causing you pain?

When did the pain all start?
What movements aggravate it?
Where is the pain specifically?

I feel pain when I flex my hips, especially during squat, I felt it for the first time the day after I squatted. The pain is exactly at the top of my thigh.

Do you do any specific kind of hip mobilization warm up before you train lower body?

Nope until I registered in this forum and read warmup thread, but it was already hurting so it didn't help.

hmmmm flexing the hip is a made by many muscles
I need to ask some questions to be able to help
1- what happened and what were you doing when you first had this pain
2- how long ago did that happen
3- where is the pain exactly now ,,, is it near the prominent bone in your waist , or in the middle of the top thigh
or a little bit lower than the prominent bone

whatever the cause whatever the treatment will be, you need to rest your muscles
this is probably either haematoma or partial tear will repair with rest and analgesia
