The apples don't fall far from the tree.

nature vs nurture. as there is more and more data on this every year it seems the latter has less of an effect than originally thought.

I find it sad that teachers NEED a union.

I find it sad that ANYONE needs a union to obtain fair wages and benefits. but this is the world be live in. if not required by law company's or in D.C as they like to say "job creators" do not do it.

nobody does what's "right" anymore only what is required by law.

LAM, from that perspective, yes a teachers union is a great thing because of the shitty pay, the need for benefits should be mandatory.
Unfortunately, in private school settings, those rules are thrown out the window and you're at the mercy of whatever the hell the school feels like offering. My first year in a catholic school, I made $22,000 back in 1999. that blows and my wife and I were stuck in Newark.

we're winning in 5 out of the 6 recalls and it's a dead heat for the 6th one so far tonight......the silent majority spoke loudly last november and we're speaking again tonight!!!

If you express your opinion publicly, by definition you aren't part of the silent majority. That basically makes this entire thread a contradiction onto itself.

You can take your fancy words and geeeeet out!

stuck in Newark, NJ?....blows is an understatement. that must have been a nightmare to say the least. I'm guessing you didn't go walking around the neighborhood at night?

it was coined because we weren't downtown at the capitol with bongo drums and singing like the unionistas and we won in november, we won again in the state supreme court ,the state supreme recounts, and now in the senate recall elections (with 2 dems being recalled tuesday we could also win)......so yes as a blanket statement we're not "silent", but in compared to the left......

You didn't coin a term, either. You took a term that had already been coined and you used it in the exact opposite way that it was intended. Just saying, you aren't the silent majority and you aren't the "not as loud as the liberals" majority like you stated.

The correct thread title would be something along the lines of: "I'm proud to be a conservative" or "We, the conservatives, did such and such". Normally this would be just a grammar issue, but in this situation, it is offensive to moderates and small groups of radicals to have one of the two most vocal political groups in the US trying to claim they are silent.

Had to do what I had to do. Bought a 22 for my wife just in case. I own a 38 as well. McCarter Highway...not the nicest of areas.
