Is Bodybuilding HEALTHY?

"Is bodybuilding Healthy?"

Yes, of course.

Is the lifestyle of pro BB healthy?

Probably not.

Too many gears, injectables, pills etc.... Leads to kidney failure, liver damage, etc.
Not to mention how hard on the heart that shit is.

yeah that is basically what he talks about in the video, along with the aspect of competing and the dieting, training, etc., and you can say the same thing about most pro sports.

Common sense approach and correct on all accounts. He doesn't mention that resistance training is the most healthy form of exercise for the heart in regards to promoting longevity but I don't see that as a big deal.

Plus solariums, melatonin (who know what long term side effect that will have) AIs, fatburners, acutane. All adds up but if ya gonna die at least you die jerked and tanned.

that the most unjerked & pale guy out on the net who is he?:coffee:

in terms of bodybuilding the drastic weight fluctuations from the off-season to showtime is the most detrimental. such as when Lee Priest used to get hella fat in the off-season at close to 300lbs then get back down to the low 200's for comp time.

much better to stay lean all year round...people don't realize that fat cells are biologically active and secrete a variety of hormones.

Why are you under the impression melatonin is a standard supplement for competing bbers? That's an odd choice.

I wasn't referring to stage competitors. Mainly recreational bodybuilders in general as they would make up the majority of the bodybuilding population worldwide.
Melatonin is still a new drug which could potentially have long term side effects but I hope it turns out that its 100% safe.

For clarification: My previous post in this thread wasn't in any way aimed at you. I was just laughing at DGG.

How is melatonin supposed to help a bodybuilder get bigger? I've only seen it used as a sleep aid.

Nothing is 100% safe, not water not air, etc. Melatonin has fairly extensive safety data. Didn't do squat for me personally as a sleep aid. It's not one of the more commonly used supps by bbers, so seemed an odd one to pick as an example of supps, which is why I asked.

Understood, thanx. :hiya:

Are hardcore bb healthy? Not the ones who go to extremes, use drug's. Olympia types? No because they abuse their body (take all kinds of drugs, weight flucuations, lift too heavy, etc) for the sake of competition.

Is the average bb healthy that worksout and has a good balanced diet. Yes

Balance ist he key to longevity :hiya:
