will BENJ puch 315 for his first time tommarow?

Well there's 9 words I never thought I'd see put together in a sentence.
Lol just speaking the truth. You'd be suprised how much powerlifting technique increases the bench. However I find it doesn't hit pecs as good as standard bb bench atleast not for me. But if your going for a number, doing said technique is where its at. Also alot less stressful on the shoulders.

Looked good, Benj.
Thanks, brother.
Nice triple. Good stuff!
Thanks, boss.

LOL, no doubt, but it's true.

That's how I always felt, just thought it was me. I didn't want to do this just to get the number, I wanted to feel the muscle working.

most i've done for was 4 reps when i was 159lbs...i can't do flats anymore cause my shoulder...and i'm much bigger now and prefer inclines

Same here brutha......My Left wing is jacked up.....I do Inclines like no other.....Love Incline.......:daydream:

I was getting 365x6 when i was 35lbs heavier benching regular flat. Mind you I weighed nearly 280lbs which doesn't make it that impressive. But azza has a point on the powerlifting technique. Push with legs, arch the back, tuck elbows, and pull shoulder blades together putting traps and lats into it. And you'll be suprised how much stronger it makes you. I wish I'd have been benching that way when I was heavier. Been dieting for nearly 3 months and i'm down 37lbs. Dieting has fucking killed my strength, Haven't been on gear while doing it.

My little mate is 75kg and his meets he is doing 148kg, another mate former MR Australia in Masters divison was dieting for a comp and down to 78kg and did 148kgx6.

Technique in the lift is what gets you the numbers, i see it 2 ways, you can work up to 315 as a regular training weight and get the reps up to 8, or do a regular bench routine doing your board press???s and training ancillaries just for strength, but PB???s dont happen every week, its the gradual program of working from volume back down to triples and double's at the percentage rate to get the PB at the last week of the program.

Obviously building the muscle requires almost no flat bench??????...

how much do you weigh?
and yeah, I need to start pulling the blades back more.

255ish maybe more. My bench sucks because m awful technique. Also in the last two years I've been put out with a lot of major injuries. Torn rotator cuff, and two severe concussions that had me out 2 and 4 months at a time. The rotator had me out a while too. Also during season I don't train to get stronger. I just try to maintain the best I can with all the running I do in the crazy heat.
Pound for pound you own me.
