We'll see how it goes. Maybe something like:

135 x 10
185 x 6
225 x 4~slow reps
265 x 2~slow reps
315 x 1

I know myself, mentally. If I go past 265 for a triple, before 315, my mind will start playing tricks on me. Slowly build up, then take a big jump.

Thanks. I don't do this on the regular, so I'm not sure.
My training partner is good with it, so that's probably what he had in mind.

315 @ 190 will be ok.

Chest is thick cause you're 5'8. 315 is a good milestone though. Once you hit it you'll be like that sucked and won't enjoy it. You'll just want a lot more. I find it much more impressive when someone who is very tall hits heavy weights as oppose to someone shorter.

Chest is thick from hard work. Sure, it's easier to fill out when you're shorter, but I'm not going to down play myself because of height.

Dont burn up to much on the warmup. If you are going for a PB do it properly.

This way you are relatively fresh for the last set???...
 
hey if your spotter doesnt mind doing labor...do a few slow negs as slow as you can go... GET THE MAX IF YOU CAN....then he helps pull it uP after you reach failure...it will hurt like hell but you WILL be stronger the next time...

My spotter has no problem torturing me lol. I'll keep it in mind. We do negs once in a while.
I think you can do it! Don't think about it, it's probably mental. I got stuck at 225, 315 and 405 mentally. After I first hit 225, I ended up maxing at 275.
Exactly. I always feel its mental. For me, I usually gauge what I think I can do the next set off of the one before it. I think that holds me back. Part of the reason I want to jump from 265 to 315. To avoid any mental barriers in between.

I hit 315 and I felt like I made a huge accomplishment. It feels awesome but it's quite dangerous at the same time.

heavys right don't burn out on warm ups, you got this brother its light weight I love to max (I know it not good) but for the mental part you will fell like god, ya buddy

I do my 135 and play with it some. Stretch my chest out nice 225 5 265 1-2 315 1 then I go for a max. Always see guys burn out. Dearest ben maybe if you unleash the bi polar on it you'll smash 315 easy. Just a suggestion.
