Hack Squat 10 plates for reps

I have a Leg-press/hack squat machine in my basement I think I have only used it once for hack squats. I should probably start using it again. I always do regular squats but vareity is good I guess. Oh and great job.

Up to rep 5, are you adjusting your footing after every rep? Other then that, great set.

yea. i don't know why. just a weird thing i do. no reason behind. just during that 2 second rest in-between those last few reps, im kinda jittery.

like on one of my squat videos, one guy tried to rip me for changing my hand position..i was like ok, wtf who cares.

I wasn't trying to give you a hard time about it, sorry if I came across that way bro. I was just curious, I knew you couldn't be trembling like that after 1 rep! :roflmao:

But on the squat deal,i haven't seen that video, but adjusting your hand position does sound a little sketchy in between reps...

I see people do the same with bench. Feet never planted if looking to use mechanical advantage (weight lifter)...

some hack squats from tonights late workout. more info in youtube video description. thnx for watching.

5 plates, each side. 8 deepest reps possible. :shooter:

p.s. this hack squat barely fits on a 6th plate, which ive gotten for 6 reps before, but my knees were fuckked the next day.

Hack Squats

One of the problems with them is that you drive your knees forward over you toes.

Shear Force

In doing so, that places a LOT of shear force on the knees.

Knees That Hurt

That is the reason your knees hurt.

If it hurts, DON'T do it.

Pain is Mother Nature way of telling you NOT do them.

Other Exercises

There are a lot of other exercises you can do that work the legs with causing knee problems.

90 Degree Shin Angle

With any movement, keeping the shins at a 90 degree angle to the floor insure a minimal amount of shear force is place on the knees.

Follow that thought and you will eliminate knee pain.

Machine hack squats are horrible for knees. That's why they hurt after. Stop doing them! Do barbell hack squats instead.

i thought the hack squat was a lift like the deadlift but with the bar behind your calves

Yes, Hack squats are a dumbass exercise. Hope the knee replacement is worth it.

I have looked at your participation in posts, and damn near everything I find that involves someone lifting you have something negative to say.

I would like to see YOU put up some weight instead of negging everyone that actually does so.
