So yesterday i did these for first time. What are your thoughts on this excersise? I did it under a deadlift rack bar so didn't go all the way down to chest but I feel like a read somewhere that it's good to do half (or 3/4) motion reps once in a while.

bodybuilding.com said it focuses on triceps and secondary on chest. Shit my chest is lacking to hopefully I still got a nice chest workout

I thought the purpose of the chains was to add weight only during the explosive phase of the bench, while you lower the weight the chains hit the floor and so the weight is off the bar, then when you put it back up the chains lift off the ground adding weight when you need it. Great for getting through plateaus.

ya I think ur right I dno why they have the chains under the rack. I could still feel the pressure tho so w/e

I have never used them but heard they work great for busting through a sticking point. A few guys at my gym used them for squats until management stopped them.Don't understand why I guess they forgot to change the sign above the front door to planet fitness:geewhiz:

Yep or you can use bands.

Bands or chains are amazing
I have only had the pleasure of using bands a few times but the workout I got was unreal
Thinking about buying some

I use bands or chains every week on my DE days. They are a bit different. YOu can't use one all the time. We work in 3 week phases with bands then chains. Bands are going to stress you CNS much more than chains. They are going to help you explode through your motion. Or simply put get strong. About to leave for work but search accommodating resistance and strength curve. As well as any westside articles will probably tell you more.

A quick link (haven't read in awhile but think this talks about chains more)
