Gary Johnson fans out there?

Been talking about him for some time now.

I am voting for Gary Johnson.

I've been voting Libertarian since 1994, and Gary Johnson is an even-keeled, level headed candidate.

what you mean the guy that seems normal and doesn't want to keep the fake war on terror going forever funneling billions of dollars to defense contractors who after 30 years are now psuedo-government agency's. he's dead wrong on his corporate tax policy as US large firms are paying less than the OECD average and the country's that do have lower corporate tax rates have closed loopholes while the US has increased them over the years.

in a consumption based economy job growth comes from an increased demand for goods and services and that comes from real income growth not from a reduction of corporate tax rates or the reduction of tax rates for top earners.

Can someone link me to a legitimate source that explains Johnson's political positions, a kind of summary.

I already voted for Johnson. voted early by mail.

Okay, so he dropped the ball on ECON101. What about the rest of his platform or viewpoint on things?

I'm not encouraging anyone to vote for Johnson. It would be like a vote for Nader in 2000. :gosh:

Still, Johnson's ideas overall definitely make sense to me.

At this point in time a president that understands economics, business, how jobs are created and how to grow the economy is critical.

Ideas are one thing, implementing them in a society as polarized and diverse as the U.S. and an economy as complex as the U.S. that is interlocked globally with other nations is another thing entirely.

to understand Johnson and Ron Paul. people need to understand their Philosophy. then their positions on the issues all make perfect sense. freedom, personal liberty and a govt that follows the constitution. it's that simple.

That can also be said about any economic expert attempting to implement their plans in a society as polarized and diverse as the U.S. government. Johnson, Obama, Romney all have advisors and they'd all have to deal with the political machine.

the expansion of the US military is part of the neo-liberal ideology. military spending is not only part of the requirement to spread and maintain neo-liberalism around the globe but it also accounts for about 4m high paying jobs ($85K +) in about 10 states.

for the most part he sounds like a "normal" person far from the radicals that have taken over the GOP since the late 70's. and it's why people like him and Ron Paul don't have a snowballs chance in hell at ever becoming POTUS.

Another thing about libertarians is they do take things a bit far. They would like to abolish all government agency's which is ridiculous. The FDA does need to be overhauled as I think they should focus on safe manufactoring and testing, and leave the decisions of who takes what for what illness up to the patient and Dr.

Also, the FAA does a pretty good job. We are better off with them than without them.

I would like to the fat trimmed.

Okay, so he dropped the ball on ECON101.

I don't know about that. I think his goal is to shift us more toward a production based economy. The anti-progressives that have taken over the democratic party aren't going to like that.

They're probably out there but I've never heard a prominent Libertarian state they would like to abolish all government agencies.

I'm voting for him. In my state, Obama is up by like 20 points so it's not like it's really going to make a difference though. The Dem nominee could be a sack of bricks and my wonderful state would still vote for them.

Ron Paul talks about it in his book.

[h=2]Gary Johnson fans out there?[/h]..........He wants to legalize WEED.........that's all I care about....hope I don't sound to shallow.....light up & leave me alone....:coffee:

You're saying he said he wanted to get rid of every single government agency? The Army is a government agency.

Every one not specifically outlined in the constitution. Although Im sure he would keep the Air Force too.

No, a vote for Johnson is a vote for Gary Busey. A vote for Captain Crunch is a vote for Obama. Didn't you read the flow chart?

A vote for Johnson is a vote for Johnson. It's the harebrained thinking that if you vote for someone who isn't running for one of the major parties it's the same as a vote for the guy you don't like that keeps this country in its downward spiral. Voting for Romney just to get Obama out is pretty sucking stupid, IMO. Vote for someone who isn't a turd of a candidate.
