I got some gear that is somewhat questionable (I'd rather not say who) and thought I'd stick it in the freezer overnight to see if it crashed and if I could see the hormone separate from the oil. I pulled it out today and it was frozen solid. It melted pretty quickly but looks exactly like it did when I put it in there. I know the freezer test isn't 100% but is it a bad sign that the gear didn't crash?

post pic as close up as possible I will tell you.
next time I see some crashed gear I'm going to post a tutorial. When it is crashed the shards of test are in the BOTTOM of the vial only not distributed throughout the liquid. They are a very particular crystal stucture they are not round they look like shards of glass or even rock candy crystals. The liquid is still clear with the shards of crashed gear crystals in the bottom.

There were no crystals. I took a pic but the vial has the sources label and my intent is not to bash anyone. I just wanted to see what would happen if I crashed it. Since I had no plans to use it I figure it would be a good way to test it.

Nice explanation, thanks!

If I induce this in a vial of my own, will heating it (boiling water bath for 30 mins, perhaps?) reliably rescue the solution?

It should re suspend the mix, it typically happens when you are going aggressive/heavy on the potency. So if you heat it it will go back in suspension but may fall out in your syringe(that sucks) I had Test P start falling out in the middle of a pinning one time could only get half in, the rest would not go through a 25g pin, and it hurt for days. Remember if it crashes in the bottle it'll do the same in your ass or leg. Dilute it with some GSO. Till it holds.

Dont try it with gear you will use. Test Prop is the best bet to get it to fall out.
It has to do with the prop esther which is short. The shorter esther allows LESS of the test to absorb into the oil. I don't think I can explain it but with the long esthers they slip into he oil more deeply allowing more to hold Yeah I can't quite explain it. But the short esther means less of the test can hold in the oil and thus is more likely to let go and crash out.

Open it in paint and just block out the name

Can usually scrape the label off. But yeah It will be MORE useful if I can find some crashed gear and post pics I used to have one I kept around but am not sure where it is.

No crystals bro. I could block the label but it will be obvious if I post the vial. I want to be as discreet as possible b/c this is not a bashing thread, just my curiosity of what happens when gear is intentionally crashed. Basically, it froze solid and melted fairly quickly, like within 10-15 minutes in room temperature and looks exactly like it did before I put it in the freezer.

I might have a better description of what crashed gear looks like. It's like when you put a water bottle in the freezer and it just starts to freeze. You grab the bottle and squeeze it and a thin wall of glass comes off the plastic and floats in the water. That's what it looks like. But on the bottom of the vial.

maybe try to fined and do lab testing and you will see what you got...if you got good quality gear or not..but i am sure its way cheap! ;)

Just because it re dissolves on its own doesn't mean its bad, if it froze it sounds like it did crash, but the solvent mixture is about right and it holds fine when it returns to room temp. Only really badly made gear will be hard to get redissolved or will require heat to do it, most should "thaw" and redissolve just fine.

I will write up a possible sticky with more pics tomorrow.
Its in the oil our base is clear

Great info and pics. Good to know even though it has not happened to me yet.
