Fuck all of you and your nonsense. I want to know the incredible untold story here. What were the intentions of the kid nappers? Who is the hero that basically saved the girl by putting her out and telling her to run for help? What happened to the person that saved the girl?
I also want to read that story. Hope they are able to eventually have the little girl retrace her tracks if at all possible back to those kidnapping *************.
The woman was wearing a "burka" where only her eyes were showing and they released the little girl to her without her showing I.D. So I completely blame the school for this event. But the only description of this woman is that she has green eyes. Unbelivable.
Inexcusable.
only if the parents involve them, I had a friend who was home schooled and he was a strange dude and lacked the humor and street understanding of things. I got real tired of hearing what does that mean every 5 minutes
Some people are just like that regardless of their educational environment. You give child A the perfect environment and they fail while child B has the worst environment imaginable yet they prosper.
my kids were both home-schooled almost every year and have no trouble making friends etc. the social isolation of home-school families is exaggerated. for the most part socializing via public school kids was negative.
Again, every child is different.
What worked for your children may not work of all children. Likewise heckler's friend. Perhaps -- given the right educational setting -- that person might have been a well-informed and entertaining personality. Or maybe their personality or apparent cluelessness was caused by something else entirely.
my house was always the house full of neighborhood kids even though my kids didn't go to public school. even a couple little kids that didn't get along with my kids would come there when their parents were drinking cuz it was safe.
What, the kids arrived on your doorstep and announced, "Hey, my folks are drinking! Can I crash here? Your home has a reputation for safety."?

just going to the park, pool, sliding in winter. it's ridiculous to think kids need public school to meet other kids.
School definitely helped me meet other kids. From kindergarten through 5th grade we lived in what some call the boonies. There wasn't another kid around for miles and miles. It was me, old people, cows, and LOTS of trees.

Sure... But going to school 5 days a week 7-8 hours a day is a much more immersive experience...
Public education and home education isn't necessarily an either/or scenario. You can do one for a few years and then switch to the other. Suspect that given the right parent or an informed/involved/intelligent parent, home education can be as successful for a student as public ed.
In a different incident at the same school, three 10- and 11-year-old boys were charged in November 2011 after reportedly sexually assaulting another boy in the restroom.
immersed in what exactly?
That's not education, though. That's security and safety.
better safe than sorry. for both my kids i saw the shit they had to deal with at public school rob them of that carefree shine of happiness and (snip) child protective services told me they see teachers abuse kids all the time. unless it's sexual abuse or caught on video they are virtually untouchable... at college girls got raped and campus cops cover it up so parents feel safe sending their kids there. screw public schools.
I've seen literally thousands of examples of what I'd call "carefree shine" and "happiness" related to children and public schools.
And no one is untouchable.
