The fired ex-California cop who set off a region-wide manhunt after allegedly shooting three police officers this morning -- one fatally -- had initially gone to a yacht club near San Diego where police say he attempted to steal a boat and flee to Mexico.
Police say that former police officer Christopher Jordan Dorner, 33, who officials believe posted an online manifesto outlining his plan to "terminate" his former colleagues and their families, is armed with a long gun and might have several other guns and high-capacity magazines. He is also believed to have access to military uniforms because he has served in the Navy.
"We are considering him armed and dangerous," Lt. Julia Engen of the Irvine Police Department said.
Police allege that he went to the yacht club Wednesday night at Point Loma, Calif., near San Diego to steal the boat. He aborted the attempted theft when the boat's propeller became entangled in a rope, law enforcement officials said. It was at that point he is believed to have headed to Riverside, where he allegedly shot two police officers.
"He pointed a handgun at the victim [at the yacht club] and demanded the boat," Lt. David Rohowits of the San Diego Police Department said.
Police say the rifle marksman shot at four officers in two incidents overnight, hitting three of them: one in Corona, Calif., and the two in Riverside, Calif.
Sgt. Rudy Lopez of the LAPD said two LAPD officers were in Corona and headed out on special detail to check on one of the individuals named in Dorner's manifesto. Dorner allegedly grazed one of them but missed the other.
"[This is an] extremely tense situation," Lopez said. "We call this a manhunt. We approach it cautiously because of the propensity of what has already happened."
The Riverside Police Department said two of its officers were shot before one of them died, KABC-TV reported. The other is in stable condition with two gunshot wounds, police say.
"They were on routine patrol stopped at a stop light when they were ambushed," Lt. Guy Toussant of the Riverside police department said.
In the manifesto Dorner published online, he threatened at least 12 people by name, along with their families.
"Your lack of ethics and conspiring to wrong a just individual are over. Suppressing the truth will leave to deadly consequences for you and your family," Dorner wrote in his manifesto.
A badge and identification belonging to Dorner have been found in San Diego, according to San Diego police Sgt. Ray Battrick. Dorner's LAPD badge and ID were found by someone near the city's airport, and turned in to police overnight, The Associated Press reported.
Police around Southern California are wearing tactical gear, including helmets and guns across their chests. The light-up signs along California highways show the license plate number of Dorner's car, and say to call 911 if it is seen. The problem, police say, is that they believe Dorner is switching license plates on his car, a 2005 charcoal-gray Nissan Titan pickup truck.
Los Angeles Police Department Chief Charlie Beck said today that 40 protective details have been deployed to protect officers and their families.

"We are taking all measures possible to ensure safety of our officers and their families," he said.

Dorner is also believed to be responsible for the weekend slayings of an assistant women's college basketball coach and her fianc? in what cops believe are acts of revenge against the LAPD, as suggested in his online manifesto.
Lawrence was found slumped behind the wheel of his white Kia in the parking lot of their upscale apartment complex in Irvine Sunday and Quan was in the passenger seat.
"A particular interest at this point in the investigation is a multi-page manifesto in which the suspect has implicated himself in the slayings," Maggard said.
Police said Dorner's manifesto included threats against members of the LAPD. Police say they are taking extra measures to ensure the safety of officers and their families.
The document, allegedly posted on an Internet message board this week, apparently blames Quan's father, retired LAPD Capt. Randy Quan, for his firing from the department.
One passage from the manifesto reads, "I will bring unconventional and asymmetrical warfare to those in LAPD uniform whether on or off duty."
"I never had the opportunity to have a family of my own," it reads. "I'm terminating yours."
Dorner was with the department from 2005 until 2008, when he was fired for making false statements.
Randy Quan, who became a lawyer in retirement, represented Dorner in front of the Board of Rights, a tribunal that ruled against Dorner at the time of his dismissal, LAPD Capt. William Hayes told The Associated Press Wednesday night.
According to documents from a court of appeals hearing in October 2011, Dorner was fired from the LAPD after he made a complaint against his field-training officer, Sgt. Teresa Evans, saying in the course of an arrest she had kicked a suspect who was a schizophrenic with severe dementia.
After an investigation, Dorner was fired for making false statements.
"We have strong cause to believe Dorner is armed and dangerous," Maggard said.
Donner was also a Navy reservist who'd just finished his military career as a lieutenant Friday. His only overseas deployment was to a Navy base in Bahrain. He also received a Rifle Marksman Ribbon and Pistol Expert Medal, meaning he received superior scores when he tested at the range.
A Navy official confirms Naval Base Point Loma is on lockdown.
Police say Dorner is black, 6-feet tall and weighs 270 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes, and believed to be driving the Nissan pickup truck.
Meanwhile, Cal State-Fullerton is still mourning the loss of their beloved assistant coach.
"There are really no words to convey the sadness that our program feels, that the young women who have had the privilege of working with such a bright and passionate woman," head coach Marcia Foster said earlier this week. "I want to especially send out condolences to Randal and Sylvia Quan, and her brother Ryan."
After college, Quan coached at Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks and has spent the past two years as an assistant coach at Cal State-Fullerton. The university has posted a memorial page on its sports website dedicated to Quan.
Lawrence was a business graduate who recently started working as a public-safety officer at USC.

i bet this was true.

guy has gone off the deep end but i bet you anything he reported what that woman actually did and he was fired for telling the truth. i don't think you get this outraged unless there's some real cause.

Christopher Dorner Manifesto (Uncensored) ?

In 8/07 I reported an officer (Ofcr. Teresa Evans/now a Sergeant), for kicking a suspect (excessive force) during a Use of Force while I was assigned as a patrol officer at LAPD?s Harbor Division. While cuffing the suspect, (Christopher Gettler), Evans kicked the suspect twice in the chest and once in the face. The kick to the face left a visible injury on the left cheek below the eye. Unfortunately after reporting it to supervisors and investigated by PSB (internal affairs investigator Det. Villanueva/Gallegos), nothing was done. I had broken their supposed ?Blue Line?. Unfortunately, It?s not JUST US, it?s JUSTICE!!! In fact, 10 months later on 6/25/08, after already successfully completing probation, acquiring a basic Post Certificate, and Intermediate Post Certificate, I was relieved of duty by the LAPD while assigned to patrol at Southwest division. It is clear as day that the department retaliated toward me for reporting Evans for kicking Mr. Christopher Gettler. The department stated that I had lied and made up the report that Evans had kicked the suspect. I later went to a Board of Rights (department hearing for decision of continued employment) from 10/08 to 1/09. During this BOR hearing a video was played for the BOR panel where Christopher Gettler stated that he was indeed kicked by Officer Evans (video sent to multiple news agencies). In addition to Christopher Gettler stating he was kicked, his father Richard Gettler, also stated that his son had stated he was kicked by an officer when he was arrested after being released from custody. This was all presented for the department at the BOR hearing. They still found me guilty and terminated me...

..What they failed to mention in the BOR was Teresa Evans own use of force history during her career on the LAPD. She has admitted that she has a lengthy use of force record and has been flagged several times by risk management. She has a very well known nickname, Chupacabra, which she was very proud to flaunt around the division. She found it very funny and entertaining to draw blood from suspects and arrestees. At one point she even intentionally ripped the flesh off the arm of a woman we had arrested for battery (sprayed her neighbor with a garden water hose). Knowing the woman had thin elastic skin, she performed and Indian burn to the woman?s arm after cuffing her. That woman was in her mid-70′s, a mother and grandmother, and was angry at her tenants who failed to pay rent on time. Something I can completely understand and I am sure many have wanted to do toward tenants who do not pay their rent. Teresa Evans was also demoted from a senior lead officer rank/position for performance issues. During my two months of working patrol with Teresa Evans, I found her as a woman who was very angry that she had been pulled from patrol for a short time because of a domestic violence report made by Long Beach Police Department because of an incident involving her active LAPD officer boyfriend, Dominick Fuentes, and herself. Dominick Fuentes is the same officer investigated for witness tampering. She also was visibly angry on a daily basis that she was going to have to file for bankruptcy because her ex-husband, a former LAPD officer and not Dominick Fuentes, who had left the department, state, and was nowhere to be found had left her with a tax bill and debt that she was unable to pay because of a lack of financial means. Evans, you are a POS and you lied right to the BOR panel when Randy Quan asked you if you kicked Christopher Gettler. You destroyed my life and name because of your actions. Time is up. The time is now to confess to Chief Beck.

I have exhausted all available means at obtaining my name back. I have attempted all legal court efforts within appeals at the Superior Courts and California Appellate courts. This is my last resort. The LAPD has suppressed the truth and it has now lead to deadly consequences. The LAPD?s actions have cost me my law enforcement career that began on 2/7/05 and ended on 1/2/09. They cost me my Naval career which started on 4/02 and ends on 2/13. I had a TS/SCI clearance(Top Secret Sensitive Compartmentalized Information clearance) up until shortly after my termination with LAPD. This is the highest clearance a service member can attain other than a Yankee White TS/SCI which is only granted for those working with and around the President/Vice President of the United States. I lost my position as a Commanding Officer of a Naval Security Forces reserve unit at NAS Fallon because of the LAPD. I?ve lost a relationship with my mother and sister because of the LAPD. I?ve lost a relationship with close friends because of the LAPD. In essence, I?ve lost everything because the LAPD took my name and new I was INNOCENT!!! Capt Phil Tingirides, Justin Eisenberg, Martella, Randy Quan, and Sgt. Anderson all new I was innocent but decided to terminate me so they could continue Ofcr. Teresa Evans career. I know about the meeting between all of you where Evans attorney, Rico, confessed that she kicked Christopher Gettler (excessive force). Your day has come.

I?m not an aspiring rapper, I?m not a gang member, I?m not a dope dealer, I don?t have multiple babies momma?s. I am an American by choice, I am a son, I am a brother, I am a military service member, I am a man who has lost complete faith in the system, when the system betrayed, slandered, and libeled me. I lived a good life and though not a religious man I always stuck to my own personal code of ethics, ethos and always stuck to my shoreline and true North. I didn?t need the US Navy to instill Honor, Courage, and Commitment in me but I thank them for re-enforcing it. It?s in my DNA.

Luckily I don?t have to live everyday like most of you. Concerned if the misconduct you were apart of is going to be discovered. Looking over your shoulder, scurrying at every phone call from internal affairs or from the Captains office wondering if that is the day PSB comes after you for the suspects you struck when they were cuffed months/years ago or that $500 you pocketed from the narcotics dealer, or when the other guys on your watch beat a transient nearly to death and you never reported the UOF to the supervisor. No, I don?t have that concern, I stood up for what was right but unfortunately have dealt with the reprocussions of doing the right thing and now losing my name and everything I ever stood for. You fuckers knew Evans was guilty of kicking (excessive force) Gettler and you did nothing but get rid of what you saw as the problem, the whistleblower. Gettler himself stated on video tape ( provided for the BOR and in transcripts) he was kicked and even his father stated that his son said he was kicked by Evans when he was released from custody. The video was played for the entire BOR to hear. Tingirides, Eisenberg, and Martella all heard it. You?re going to see what a whistleblower can do when you take everything from him especially his NAME!!!

booyah. what you want to bet every word is true?

you can't even imagine what it was like for my son to be called a liar about what those teachers did to him when he was 8... how frustrating it was to see the legal system fail him. as a mom going on a rampage was out of the question because i have kids to be there for. guess this guy has nothing to lose.

holy crap..... this guy is for gun control smh

I can buy any firearm I want, but should I be able to purchase these class III weapons (SBR?s, and suppressors) without a background check and just a $10 notary signature on a quicken will maker program? The answer is NO. I?m not even a resident of the state i purchased them in. Lock n Load just wanted money so they allow you to purchase class III weapons with just a notarized trust, military ID. Shame on you, Lock n Load. NFA and ATF need new laws and policies that do not allow loopholes such as this. In the end, I hope that you will realize that the small arms I utilize should not be accessed with the ease that I obtained them. Who in there right mind needs a fucking silencer!!! who needs a freaking SBR AR15? No one. No more Virginia Tech, Columbine HS, Wisconsin temple, Aurora theatre, Portland malls, Tucson rally, Newtown Sandy Hook. Whether by executive order or thru a bi-partisan congress an assault weapons ban needs to be re-instituted. Period!!!
Mia Farrow said it best. ?Gun control is no longer debatable, it?s not a conversation, its a moral mandate.?

If possible, I want my brain preserved for science/research to study the effects of severe depression on an individual?s brain... :coffee:

You are probably right about him getting canned for reporting his Sargeant. Whistleblowers always get screwed over, I mean look at Mike MacQuery the former Penn State assistant football coach. No one will hire him because of his disloyalty to Penn State. How messed up is that?

he should have ended his manifesto with "can you hear me now?"

"I am a man who has lost complete faith in the system". Join the club my man !

It never crossed your mind that the LAPD would end up screwing you over like they did soo many innocent people before you.

How much do you wanna wager that the Capt. was doing Theresa Evans, and that's why he took her word over his. Seen that kinda thing 1st hand, and that Harbor division of the LAPD is so shady and notorious for stuff like that, by the way.

Gun-control advocate and CNN host Piers Morgan found himself in an uncomfortable situation Thursday after hearing rogue cop Chris Dorner, who allegedly killed a police officer and two others, was a big fan of his.
?The LA cop-killer murder spree has nothing to do with politics and everything to do with deranged criminality. I hope they catch him asap,? Mr. Morgan tweeted a little over an hour ago.
A bizarre manifesto by Mr. Dorner was first published by KTLA-TV, where he praised President Obama and his gun control efforts, along with media that touted those efforts, such as Mr. Morgan.
?[G]ive Piers Morgan an indefinite resident alien and Visa card,? the manifesto reads. ?Mr. Morgan, the problem that many American gun owners have with you and your continuous discussion of gun control is that you are not an American citizen and have an accent that is distinct and clarifies that you are a foreigner. I want you to know that I agree with you 100% on enacting stricter firearm laws. ? If you had [sic] a well regulated AWB [assault-weapons ban], this would not happen. The time is now to reinstate a ban that will save lives. Why does any sportsman need a 30 round magazine for hunting? Why does anyone need a suppressor? Why does anyone need a AR15 rifle??
Mr. Dorner also ranted against the NRA and its executive vice president and CEO, Wayne LaPierre, calling him ?vile? and ?inhumane.?
Mr. Morgan also tweeted today that the manifesto is no joke: ?Shocking to see how many gun rights tweeters think this shocking LA cop-killer?s manifesto is something to joke about. It?s not.?

I hope this guy dorner kills the cops who committed mass violations of people's rights. I have no pity for dirty cops.

I would be rooting for him if he had only gone after those who wronged him and not innocents.

... IMO another day of saddness here in the U.S..........life can be very stressful ......one bad decision & you may pay forever....

I hope he exacts the pound of flesh he is owed.

As much as he would like to get to the cops the screwed him over you can bet they now have 24/7 protection.

"Sources tell the Los Angeles Times that the people shot by police were two women delivering newspapers. One was shot in the hand and the other in the back."

i think they want to shut him up fast in part because people believe him.

Hopefully, these guys in the media will launch their own investigation and help shine some light on the crooked LAPD.

This guy is dominating the local news, and they're trying their best to make this guy into a wacko. But he wasn't a wacko when he was in the middle east, and he wasn't a wacko when you evaluated him for the force ? But now that he has nothing," but I'm willing to bet a case of PTSD". And is just doing a real John Rambo!

And the rest of your chicken hearted police force are shooting old ladies just delivering news papers, like the bungling bunglers they are.

Manhunt for ex-cop set to resume in California mountain range

Article: Timeline: Hunt on for ex-Los Angeles policeman accused in shootings
Fri, Feb 8, 2013

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - A mountaintop search was to resume on Saturday for an ex-policeman wanted in three California slayings, after authorities interrupted the manhunt during the night as snowfall kept their helicopters grounded.
Former Los Angeles officer Christopher Dorner, 33, has declared war on law enforcement officers and their families in a manifesto posted to the Internet that complains of his 2008 firing from the LAPD.
The hunt for Dorner has centered on the Big Bear Lake resort in the San Bernardino Mountains after his burning pickup truck was discovered in the area on Thursday. Authorities have acknowledged he may have slipped away undetected.
Snow fell late on Friday around Big Bear Lake, which is about 80 miles northeast of Los Angeles. The temperature hovered at about 20 degrees Fahrenheit (-7 Celsius).
The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, which is leading the manhunt involving over 100 officers, said in a statement on Friday that because of the weather conditions it would not be sending aloft its helicopters equipped with infrared technology used earlier in the search.
With no air support, the search by officers on the ground was also suspended overnight. But it was set to resume at 7 a.m. local time on Saturday, the sheriff's department said.
The heavily armed officers participating in the hunt for Dorner have used dogs and armored personnel carriers equipped with chains.
San Bernardino County Sheriff John McMahon said the mountaintop hunt, which began with officers following tracks that led away from the truck, would press on "until either we discover that he's left the mountain or we find him."
The truck turned up in the San Bernardino mountain range on Thursday hours after police say Dorner exchanged gunfire before dawn with two Los Angeles police officers, grazing one, in the nearby city of Corona. The officers were trying to catch up to Dorner's truck after it was spotted in the area.
About 20 minutes later, he ambushed two more policemen in their patrol car at a stoplight in the adjacent town of Riverside, killing one and leaving the other badly wounded, police said.
A former Navy lieutenant, Dorner is also suspected in the weekend shooting deaths in Irvine of a university security officer and his fianc?e, the daughter of a retired Los Angeles police captain singled out for blame in Dorner's manifesto for his dismissal from the LAPD.
Police said they were providing extra security for about 40 potential targets mentioned in Dorner's online declaration, which was posted to Facebook but has since been taken down by the website.
Dorner, who once played college football in Utah, blamed the police department not just for firing him but also for ending his Navy career and the loss of close relationships.

they will never even try to take him alive.

they will never even try to take him alive.

This shiite is like the movie of the week!

They're posting policemen everywhere and you should see the local freeways, everybodies in the carpool lanes because they know they're not going to get stopped and given a ticket.

Curious to see how this plays out, I know how it's going to end, I'm just real curious about the middle chapters.

I think people believe him but won't care much if he gets killed. That girl he killed never did a fucking thing to him. He killed her for the sins of her father. He lost the heart of most with that act I hope. I believe he was wronged but going after the family members buys him a bullet in my book sorry to say.

I hope he exacts the pound of flesh he is owed.

As much as he would like to get to the cops the screwed him over you can bet they now have 24/7 protection.

Did he kill the one guy's daughter? This asshole isn't owed shit.

the couple he killed were the daughter and boyfriend of a cop he has on his list. he is going after family not just people who he feels wronged him.

This.

I mean wtf was he expecting, glee club? Oh, boo hoo, his training officer kicked someone in the face. Give me a break. If he wanted no part of such behavior then he should have joined up with the volunteer fire fighters. But I can't imagine that the guy was surprised when a police officer abused a citizen's rights or was at least overenthusiastic during an arrest or interview.

The LAPD should track him, kill him, bury him in the desert, and forget about him.

"We were unable to find the suspect. Kthxbye."

With a manifesto like he wrote, they have no choice but to kill him! Everyone is saying he's a normal guy? Huh?? He wants to kill police, families, and whatever the nut job has planned to make "his name good"! I HATE the LAPD for a lot of reasons, but they must track this nut down and execute him!
