So I have about 10 friends doing the tough mudder this upcoming year and they all want me to do it with em.. Has anyone done one before? If so how did you train for it?
I have about 6 months to get ready

Ya Tahoe is 13 miles and it's at like 5000 ft! Oh god running that much almost a mile up is gonna be killer

I'm doing one in Portland in June. My plan is to be able to run 8 miles.

Training:
6 days of cardio-stair master, running

3 days of lifting, focusing on pull ups, step ups, burpees, planks, squats, lunges, Turkish get ups,

i have, but he bit me!

jk

yeah i was thinking about 1 they are having near here, 10kms, not sure how i would go though, but its one of those "we leave nobody behind" and i might want to be left behind hehe

My buddy who I Climb with said it was the most difficult thing he's ever done. This guy is an animal, always in top 3 in triathlons and always the fastest climber on any mountain I've been on w him. He did his in Tahoe too.

my buddies in Colorado have talked me into doing the Vegas one. it's going to force me to get into much better all-around physical shape.

Damn Ya I did a marathon in San Francisco, but shoot that's not running up hill and doing obstacles ha.

Ya exphys I have a few friends who did one already and it kicked their ass ha

Yeah, I'd rather lift any day over high endurance training. It's way more challenging IMO

im thinking about doing a warrior dash first just to test my endurance. its 3.17 miles and its for st. judes so its a good cause
