what does this tell you about how far to the right the modern day Republican party has gone. the modern day GOP is not even close to the same party it was 30-40 years ago as the Democrats surely are not either, they don't even fight for labor anymore. how hard is it to get the federal minimum wage increased when literally hundreds of economists inside and outside the US state it's long overdue.

Bob Dole Says He, Reagan Might Not Win in Today's GOP, Thinks Party Should Close for Repairs

If Reagan were alive and in politics he would be on the fringe of the GOP.

Not a chance in hell he?d win.

Go back and watch the 1976 debate where he noted Medicare.

Compared to Barry Goldwater they are fascists, the infusion of the Christian Right has had the biggest impact on them. Most Americans still want separation of Church & State.

Reagan was a bastard but compared to the radicals of today's GOP he seems moderate. after the example that was made of JFK no US POTUS dare not follow "the plan" of destroying the US middle-class. Each POTUS since doing his part with policy whether by immigration, trade, labor wages, deregulation, etc.

Reagan was a Democrat when younger, then changed because of his great respect for Eisenhawer after World War II.... there would be no room for Pres.Eisenhawer, Pres.Reagan or Pres.Nixon, in todays Republican Party.

Same goes for the Democratic Party. Andrew Jackson, James Polk, Woodrow Wilson (probably one of the best presidents this country ever seen but shit on by history), Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman and John Kennedy would never stand a chance with the current Democrat power structure.

I have said this before, but I will say it again. The lunatic fringe have seized power in both parties. Which is a damn shame because majority of Americans are in the middle politically.

presidents no longer care about the people they only care about them selves. Listen to Reagan?s inauguration speak. Just the words he uses compared to Obama. Spoke in terms as we as a country need to do this, we will change this, and never proclaims the word I. There is no entitlement in his speech. Here Obama is all about I am this, I am that, every thing is about him self.

One reason why Reagan would never be elected is he would raise interest rates sky high, myself I am fine with this because its equal across the playing field, he would do this to reduce the national debt and for the good of the country, were as in today people are not willing to make the sacrifice for the country. They only want what is good for them selves and not others. Every one talks about giving equal medical and ect but if it means taking away what they have to help some one then good luck.

LAM, I do not know what you mean in your quote above.

Dysfunctional as hell, and I too, think they should disband as a whole altogether, the phuquin crooks!

LAM, I do not know what you mean in your quote above.

there are a lot of historical texts that quote the US executive branch was ordered to lower the standard of living of Americans by smashing labor unions and off-shoring the manufacturing base which has always provided plenty of above average wages for Americans. we consume far too much in the way of natural resources and produce very little of value with our now post-industrial economy that is now service sector based. you bring down the standard of living by reducing incomes and consumption patterns decrease as well. we represent 5% of the global population but consume 25% of the worlds natural resources.

On average, one American consumes as much energy as:
- 2 Japanese
- 6 Mexicans
- 13 Chinese
- 31 Indians
- 128 Bangladeshis
- 307 Tanzanians
- 370 Ethiopians

regardless if people want to believe the "New World Order" conspiracy theories or not us economic policy is dictated out of groups like the Trilateral Commission, Club of Rome, Bilderberg Group, etc. because the very same people that belong to these groups are the ones that have been running the CIA, World Bank, the IMF, and the US executive branch for decades and they all sign off on every single destructive piece of economic legislation that is presented to them. there are just too many similarities to simply write these things of as mere "coincidences" because there is no such thing when it comes to the function of the US government, everything is done for a reason.

LAM, Thanks for the reply.

And with the lower wages there will be less consumption in an economy that is 71% propelled by consumer spending.

In my hometown the wages are so low.

I'm sure...so far since being in FL since January there is only one company that has supplied me with work that isn't paying 1970's wages once adjusted for inflation. sadly so many Americans don't realize that having a lack of wealth means you are poor, they are just to ignorant to recognize it.

I posted a video the other day from a conference of the Club of Rome from 2012. they stated that the income of a US autoworker in 2052 will be far less than it is today. and if that's a worker in a labor union what's it going to be like for non-union workers? 2052 labor workers will be earning 1960's wages.

the US is so totally screwed. anybody that thinks things are going to get better in the US is living in denial, because both mathematics and history say the exact opposite.

So many are in denial because that's how they've been brainwashed into thinking.

Yes, wages are low in the US and in particular Florida. Hope you're doing well. I recall you were in the mortgage industry a few years ago and now I don't recall the industry you're in.

You posted it in Open Chat? I will look for it.

The standard of living is declining and will decline more.
