45 years old and notice my body does not handle carbs as "before". Is this more hormone related, insulin resistance, or what? Recent fasting CBC/CMB appear to be normal. Any suggestions?

Ill be 45 in sept. Ive pretty much eliminated carbs from my diet other then green veggies and the small amount in nuts or PB. if thats to drastic I'd recommend eating items low on the glycemic index and see how that goes. My body has never liked carbs though. It does love clean fats that's for sure. Almond butter filled me out nice today.

^^^ agree and same here @ 54. I don't eliminate carbs totally but do keep carb intake in check when I'm most insulin sensitive to insure less insulin resistance around training days. I do cycle my carbs so that I have more carbs post workout and take a cheat day now and then but no more than two days a week depending on what my goals are at the time and if I'm on a cycle or not.

I am 57 and have started showing an increase in insulin resistance. I keep my carbs under 20 grams per day. Keto is my friend. However, a big cheat day for a carb up ever two weeks seems to tame the "I NEED PASTA" beast and build up glycogen.

36 (in a week or so) and female...I dont handle carbs at all...not even the post workout variety

I fall asleep, feel like crap and turn out shaped like a muffin...not the tasty kind :(

in my twenties I ate carbs like it was my job and had narry a problem

Love me a cheat day. I am so looking forward to my cheat week!!!!!!!!!
