the kids would have fought and maybe even became friends or at least had a grudging respect for one another later. the mom might have made the situation a lot worse. i'm worried she made it so it's not over. my son would be really pissed at me if i came to his rescue like that because of the shame... but man, as a mom standing there? i'm not sure i could think about those things first. that's your baby.

Normal kids usually do become friends after a street fight. just a normal testosterone poisoning thing going on. I find it disturbing then my favorite Mexican doesn't talk like a Mexican. Also, I've never seen a Mexican fight one-on-one in person. Ever.

They are timid of nature, and you can't do anything about it. It makes them targets, and is bad news. What i'm really against though is women ingraining it in their sons to be pussies and not fight back. that fighting back is somehow wrong. Truth is more men need to teach their sons to defend themselves. Don't start shit, don't be an instigator, but if a bully starts something then you damn well finish it. If I ever have children they will certainly learn the Gracie "bullyproof" system.

I'm going to teach my kids to defend themselves when necessary. I don't want them to ever feel helpless against a bully. I think we believe mostly the same thing, but just aren't communicating because it's over messages.

Bullies need to know their behavior is unacceptable in society. They need that mental hip check. Both by peers willing to kick their ass if they act out, and by authorities taking charge and giving immediate consequences to their anti-social behavior.

Personally I believe we need to bring back spankings in schools, but i admit i might be more old fashioned. My problem is when authority figures think they can solve things by "talking it out"
