Married, mid-late 40s (but wife is younger), and 20 plus per month on the poll above. She gets very cranky if I skip a day. No HRT here. So while your question expresses surprise, I guess it depends upon the couple. I have an ex - we went at it 3 or 4 times annually (No, that is not mis-typed. It was what I typed). Talk about two extremely different marriages. Anyway, very happy now, although sometimes I need a break at my age. She wants it every single day, but she lets me off the hook every once in a while. Honestly, it feels great to have somebody want you like that.

Yep, it's great to get a chick like that. Had one recently who'd occasionally do a recon foray with her hand at any hour of the night to see if I was hard and if so, brusquely shove me over, get on top, impale herself and go to town. Mid twenties, 6 years together. When I was natty she wanted it everyday and I couldn't be bothered.. almost broke up the relationship lol. Now when I am on gear it'll be from like 1-2 times a day to 4-5 times a day if it doesn't hurt somewhere down the line. When I am off she needs some time to get used to a little less and we settle for about 4-5 times a week.
As an aged, old fart (in the scheme of things), it's nice to see that couples make an effort. If you're not, ask yourself "why?"

Damn reading all this sucks for me. Married 8 years 3 kids, wife doesn't work, just me, self employed home when I want, 2 are at school 1 is 3. Sex once every 6 weeks or so.
At one time it was multiple times a day, now she thinks this is healthy. Yeah I know my wife is sick, but she has enough good days that we can increase that number a bit. One of our main arguments is me wanting to have sex more and her saying no.
Read a book or magazine, any therapist will tell you one of the keys to a successful marriage is having sex.

That sucks! try getting a babysitter and take your wife out and have some fun with her, do it often and your sex life will improve, if not call a PRO!

Wont ever cheat on her, just not in my nature, She has Endometriosis, and HAD cervical cancer, and just this week was diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma, The pelvic area for her is often painful, and being her estrogen levels are in the tank because of the hormone treatments, and now the Letro she is on, her libido tends to be n the tank, She tell me she truly does want to, and has urges, but cant because of pain.. I know she tries, it just is very hard for me.
But I can only hope sine were both relativly young, that in the future we can make up for all this lost time, and intimacy.
Also, she has PTSD from a traumatic experience we had 2 years ago regarding hospice and her Mom dying in our home, since them she doesn't want to go anywhere, no dates with me nothing, its rare me and her do anything outside of the home.. Heres to hoping to more in the future?
I just want her healthy, but I also don't want to be the guy that leaves because of health reasons on her part, Trying to do the right thing sometimes makes you miserable, but I guess that is what vows are for?

Just turned 40, been married for 10 years. This is both our 2nd marriage. We have sex damn near everyday. In 10 years she has turned me down once. If she is bleeding she blows me. She knew my sex drive was high when we met. We discussed if I ever went more than 2 days in a week without sex I would cheat. She never questioned it and stepped up to the plate.
