Gift ideas for a boat guy

Hey all.

I want to get a gift for my land lord. He is the fucking man. He's always been really cool and has offered me some cash-paying gigs now and then. I'm about to move out, but I want to get him something before I go to show my appreciation.

He's a big boat guy. He has a large motor-driven boat that he's taking down to Florida for the winter. I figured I'll get him something related to this.

What would be a good practical gift to get for a boating enthusiast??? Other info: he's in his late 50's, divorced, and near retirement.

I was thinking a pocket compass. Something nice, maybe you can get it engraved. He can show it off to all his other boater friends. Find out the name of his boat if you get it engraved
