Over the last 2-3 years I have been following a diet high in protein and low in carbs -- in fact I reject carbs as often as possible, eating only half the potatoes/pasta/rice I get with my meal, eating peanut butter without the bread etc. Although I looked a bit more 'ripped' now my belly...
I don't have access to a squat rack too -- and most people tell me the best alternative is Hack Squats. Not very pleasant to do but you can handle alot of weight-- after all hack squat is the original squat
Can someone please give me an effective strength enhancing workout (preferably a 4 day split)
or is it possible to create my own by changing the reps and sets of my current routine? (5 sets of 5 reps)
Suggestions welcomed Thank you.
Can anyone tell me how to do pull-ups.
Most articles say you have to start with a dead-hang and then pull yourself up.
OK but it is very difficult to pull yourself up with your arms (for me anyway) from a dead-hang (especially when the arms are about to come out of their sockets) so maybe I'll...
Gopro: I read in one of the previous posts your workouts last 90 mins. Well I have just finished a rep week and each workout (without the cardio) lasted about 40 mins.
If I exercise two 'parts' per day, say chest and triceps, there will be about 15 sets and with the rests of 2 mins completion...

I prefer to lift heavy each workout but I often told to 'cycle' my workouts such as week1- heavy week 2- medium heavy week 3 -light but then MAX-OT recommends lifting from start to finish of the 12 week routine.
As I want to build up strength and muscle (and lose fat) what is the better...
I do both skullcrushers and triceps pulldowns in the gym, but as I only have a barbell/dumbells at home I was wondering if someone could tell me a good barbell/dumbell exercise to replace the pulldowns. Thanks
I have just finished the 9 week westside basic workout and now thinking about what to do next.
I am 51 and want to gain strength, add muscle (if possible), reduce my belly,
and keep cholestral in check and reduce b/f
What would you guys recommend:
more Westside Max-OT or...
