    Can you point me to some factual articles supporting higher protein diets for bodybuilders? I'm interested in looking into 50/30/20 as I have always believed in the 40/40/20 or even more carbs myself. But hey, I'm open minded and not to old to learn new ways of making me look and feel better...

    w8lifter If I increase my protein my calories also go up. That's the only reason why I drop it. I try to cut calories from a overall balanced diet. If I cut carbs then I cut protein also. It's got to come from somewhere, right? Steve

    Godda have my Opitimum Whey post workout. When cutting I give my ECA stack second runner up! That's a supplement too, right? :D

    Cereals

    Frosted Mini Wheats or Raisin Bran for me, with skim milk. Then in about 30 minutes I start my workout. Follow that with whey & flax shake, works good for me! Get my carbs and fiber right off the bat with the cereal! If I just do an egg white omlette I just dont feel good after working out...

    I also agree on the 1gr per pound of body weight as a minimum. If your not over weight and you decide to start working out more then you are now, then go for 1.5gr. I'm on a cutting stage now and dropped to 1gr. Lately I find that I'm not getting enough protein. I can feel when I'm starving...

    Speed of repetitions?

    I'm a 2 second positive and negative guy. Any faster and I find my form falling apart occasionally. Slow and steady with good form that's how I like it. :thumb: This is real important for begineers...keep it slow and concentrate on form and breathing. Steve
