cardio in my experience will actually help u to build muscle, as doing cardio will usually(at least in my experience) give me more energy in the gym and i just feel better overall throughout the day not just in the gym...and iv heard it can also aid in the recovery process becus it increases...
all depends on how many calories he consumed...but just one day even if the guy ate like 5000 calories, hed proly see maybe a 5 pound difference the next day or once the food is digested...which will mostly probly be water weight from the sodium, dont worry dude as long as ur not consistently...
