Hey guys, I have been helping this 16 year old kid train. He eats 4000 calories a day. 300 grams of protein and 300 carbs. He is hell bent on bodybuilding. Does anyone have any insight on a good training routine for him. I have given him some workouts and traine with him. He wants to train bodyparts twice a week because thats what he did in football. I never trained any body parts twice a week. We train heavy and hard each week. He had plateued off on his strength and size so we did drop sets for 3 weeks, his strenth is increasing.

For his size gains wnd strength now, I am man enough to admit I dont know if he can train body parts twice a week at his age. Can he train his body twice a week due to his age and healing quicker than adults or should he continue once a week. I am at a loss on this.

Help, hes a good kid and i want to help him.

+1 to BGB. Solid program and has consistently produced results here for a long time.

Tell him to make sure he is getting his arse in bed at night. You know teens like to stay up til 2 or 3 on facebook and texting. Proper rest is required for proper hormone balance and recuperation and is just as important as the manly man stuff in the gym. As the saying goes, you grow at home, not in the gym.

+1, listen to this man.

Also stay away from liquor, it will kill your motivation to work out plus the intensity will not be there. In addition you save some good bucks by avoiding it.
