17 years old... gaining muscle.. BUT

Ok, I know I know.. at my age I shouldn't worry about the extra body fat that I'm getting along with muscle gains.. but I just can't take it anymore.. I mean.. I'm no where near fat or even slightly chubby.. but I want to see a bit more definition... so that when I'm not flexing it looks more defined.. especially in the pecks.. what is the best way to lose a bit of body fat whilst sacrificing minimum lean muscle?

I've heard about this HIIT or HITT thing.. but I really have no clue as to what it is.. could it work for me?

Or perhaps I should just modify my diet? As of now I just eat whatever I want whenever.. the only stable things in my diet at a multivitamin.. a tablespoon of flax seed oil and a protein drink every day.. I also recently started creatine again.. been off of that for around 4 months or so.


I'd really like to know if HITT or whatever it is would be a good choice for me to loose a bit of body fat? I know this sound lazy of me.. but for me to control my diet would take much effort.. I am frequently not home.. for various reasons.. and I eat what I get alot of the time..

I think adjusting your diet would definitely help, and it is pretty easy with some planning, try to eat alot of protien and stay away from the junk food. from the look of your picture you just need to gain some mass before you will see real definition, you have to have muscle to cut it up. For cardio try sprint workouts they always get me ripped. Whatever you do just hang in there and try new things and you will see results. good luck
 
i'm just using the treadmill right now as my intense CV

i would sprint but the place i use is at a school, so I can't go when I want to unless I get up really early and that ain't gonna happen

After about 12 short mins on the treadmill i am dead! I come off and I can't walk straight, it totally screws me up

Try this, works 4 me:

30 secs Jog
20 secs Sprint
60 secs Jog
30 secs Sprint
90 secs Jog
40 secs Sprint
120 secs Jog
50 secs Sprint
150 secs Jog
60 secs Sprint
180 secs Jog
70 secs Sprint

(thats all I do, I think you can go on for around the 15 min mark)

Its called IBUR training (interval build-up running I think), meant to be the best thing for fat-loss

go try it on a non-weights day
