Hi, I am taking 2500-2700 cals I have been told to follow a 40/40/20 carb protein fat ratio system, I like it but it says 250g protein, I am using whey and having many whole foods to get my pro but are them numbers a bit high? Been told 1-1.5x body weigh lbs to get protein but I workout 4 days a week, heavy lifting 8-12 lifts 3 sets.
I also wanted to know about fat, ratios say 70g fat is needed so I have to start doing stuff like drinking whole milk and eating more nuts and butter, is this really necesary or can I go on lower numbers?
I am 5ft 10 male 140 lbs 18 years old, I am stuffing my face with good food to keep them numbers up, I have been told to just eat when I want but when I do I end up eating waaay under the calories I need to bulk.

This is probably true. Putting on muscle mass is a 24/7 gig, not just what you do in the gym. Eating from good food sources and supplementing with whey can be a chore but it's what you need to do to put on mass.

What sorts of foods are you eating to get to that level of numbers?

Where are you in terms of training? Do you have a bit of excess body fat, or are you already lean? Obviously this is going to affect how much the 'eat when hungry' is going to work for you. If you're at 10% body fat, this is going to be a different story to if you are say 30%.

How often do you eat? 4-5 times a day? You need to get the metabolic rate cranking along with good quality foods, before getting into the protein shakes and the like.
