you need to do cardio after you w/o but then I hear people say you will lose muscle that way. So what the truth??

I don't have much muscle and don't want to lose the little I have but I do have some fat I would like to get off my body.

Ok. That's what I'm gonna do then. Thanks

For me personally, I never finish cardio if I do it post lifting, so I have to do it pre lifting. And also, you probably dont want to do 40min-60min for maintaining mass, but more like20-30 min,3-4 times a week. There isnt enough days in the week to only do cardio on non-lifting days. As long as you're taking in enough of the right calories daily you wont lose mass and that remaining chub will come off(but it must come off slowly!):lifter:

Dont't you find that you burn up all your energy that you could be using in your lifts? If I were to do cardio just before lifting, I'd get tired real quick and not manage to lift anything. :(

No WAY, not for me. Lifting is more important to me than cardio. Your wasting all your glycogen on cardio. Then when you get to lifting all your pump is gone. Doing cardio before lifting does not burn any fat so why bother.

"Doing cardio before lifting does not burn any fat so why bother."

So then doing cardio without lifting first is a waist of time besause you won't burn any fat?

Look, cardio aint hard at all, so I just get it out of the way first. Half hour of cardio doesnt use all that much strength, but gets you warmed up really well.

To each his own, I prefer HIT type cardio for a shorter period of time so I do it after weights as that is my priority. :)

Half of the guys on my football team run between 30-60 mins in the AM and then lift in the evenings, 5 days a week. The other half lifts in the AM, gets in their 30 mins of cardio, and then heads off to work. All this is followed either by practice or aanother running or lifting session. After being hit by several of them, on diffrent occasions..... I can testify that they lost no muscle from doing so much cardio or their "odd" workout routines.
