Rich46yo said:And I don't want to hear the "what if it was the result of a rape" crap, 99.9% of abortions are of the dimestore variety where two people simply don't want to meet their obligations as parents.
Rich you and I seem to be like-minded people. I have read your posts and although you are rather blunt at times you appear to be a conservative person. You stand behind our great President without vacillating or giving in to pressure from feeble minded liberal democrats.Rich46yo said:Whos this asshole? Now I don't usually like to argue with ladies (there's always a chance it'll somehow interfere with sex later on), but in this case I have to. If we didn't have man-made laws, society would crack apart like a tiny little egg. Most people don't give a rat's ass about what religion says. Oh they might proclaim themselves to be deeply religious, but in the end they're just out there for themselves. And there's nothing really wrong with that. We're human beings, that kind of shit is in our nature.shutupntra1n said:I wasn't going to post an opinion, and I'm still not going to. Given the way our country handles it's morals....
People make it way more complicated than it needs to be. You could start making exceptions to every rule such as murder and okaying it here and there "Pending exceptions and Circumstances"...
There are two stances that will alter your opion on abortion. Either you accept the fact that God is the author of life or you don't.
If you are prochoice most likely it is because it is not a dilemma that directly affects you or you think somewhere down the line you may need to have one and you wouldn't want to be against it b/c you just may be a hypocrit for it at some point. Or you are against it b/c you accept God as the author of life and leave it very simple. Problem is that most people make it so complicated and start drawing lines all over the place. It is true that there is always freedom of choice even if the law prohibits. There is still a freedom to obey the laws or break them. Freedom does not mean "Without consiquense". So all women have the right to choose no matter what common law says. Our problem as a society is that we want the freedom to choose WITHOUT any consiquenses. Most people are PRO everything and ANTI God like morals b/c if they choose to believe in a power higher than themselves suddenly there are "all these" responsibilities to own up to and rules to follow. I am not going to say if I am against it or for it. It's just funny how in every hot debate like gay marriage, abortion or the next thing, in America those without God need man kinds law to be structured around what they feel and want in order to be at peace with their own actions and to feel better about their own desires. When you structure your life around religious fundamentals you don't need to be told by political rules and regulations how you should live. As far as I'm concerned the last thing I need is to have a bunch of people that are as faulty as the rest of us creating the structure of morality.
The laws shall never set my morals. For if they do I am as weak as the man who has written them, and he is not only equal to my flaws as a human but I rather follow the rules of someone who is all knowing. The only being that set the best standards for the end results is someone who knows all the facts and details... and there is only one who knows all, he who is the creator of life. Those who set there decisions on what is right in your heart and not right by another man is the one who is the strongest.
I think that just shows how much class that organization has.gr81 said:hey guys, what do you think of my new T-shirt??

No offense, but I do think this is the worst of pro-choice arguements. It requires you to believe that it is better to have not lived than to have been born into harsh circumstances and I think that is absurd.Robert DiMaggio said:I would rather see two teens abort a baby in the first tri-mester than bring another unwanted child into this world that will have a crappy life.
That's your opinion, which you're entitled to....just like this couple is entitled to do what they choose to do. The highest form of arrogance is somehow assuming that you (or anyone else) should make the decision for them.Pepper said:No offense, but I do think this is the worst of pro-choice arguements. It further assume that these people will have no contribution and that is just arrogant.

This is why the debate is so screwed up. No one can stay on point.MaxMirkin said:That's your opinion, which you're entitled to....just like this couple is entitled to do what they choose to do. I did not say that laws are silly... You did not read my post in full context. I am going into law enforcement so obviously I feel laws are necessaryMaxMirkin said:Now I don't usually like to argue with ladies (there's always a chance it'll somehow interfere with sex later on), but in this case I have to. What's my point? The only thing that keeps us from disintegrating into total anarchy, is our man-made laws. Without the threat of real, earthly punishment most of us would run amok. (I know i would) So don't think they're somehow unnecessary. Religion might hold back a few idio....devout people, but the majority of humanity needs firmly-enforced laws!
Oh, and of coarse I'm pro-choice. No one has the right to tell someone else what to do with their own body.
P.S. I'm a moderate Republican, so don't blame it all on Dems & liberals.
Having much foster family in my life I beg to differ that that holds any circumstance for abortion.Robert DiMaggio said:no offense taken, that is your opinion.
maybe you should go visit some of the tens of thousands of children in foster homes though.
