start with abs before anything if you leave them till the end you will not do them .
starts abs every other day. one day do them hard about 15 mns and the next time about 10mns. you should do abs at least 3 times a week.

Why would he want to do abs every other day?

It's threads like this that make me wonder how some people even manage to turn on a computer.

But just so I'm not completely trolling, personally I wouldn't overthink your ab workout -- unless you're in the 8-10% bf range they're not going to show. And it sounds like your training routine needs some work if you're doing a five day split, I recommend reading the thread 'Designing Training Routines by Cowpimp' before proceeding.

I wouldn't do abs before workouts and I never do them more than 2 times a week. If anything i save them to the end of the workout, as they are part of your "core" (god did I just say that), but they are paramount in support, power, stabilization for way more important moves like squats, deads, rows, hell basically all of your other compound work really. I find that one arm rows put a ton of stress on my abs in order to stay in a power supported position with some lordosis. Not to mention front squats. I have a little bit of ocd here and there, and nowadays I don't really like to work my abs even the day before squats or deads. Maybe that's over kill but that's just me. And frankly as many of us would tell you, ab work is just so optional if you're doing good proper compound work that it's not even worth talking about for alot of us. I do do direct work but I haven't done any in about a week.

i think for people who dislike to do abs, start with them because at the end of a workout you will dislike them more. And for someone who just want an acceptable midsection, it is better to do them frequently and not spend too much time on them OR do them twice a week really hard.....so for someone who dislikes working abs , the first option is better.
