how important is it to workout your abs? what if i dont really care to have the toned look. will not working them out much effect any other muscles?

I would do some, but that's just my humble opinion. I don't see the point in being strong everywhere else if you don't also have a strong core.

I've asked this question before and read into it aswell. Its always a good idea to train your abs, since there used in a majority of the core excersizes including squats. Its always good to have a strong midsection to help you with bigger lifts that utilize your whole body.

okay true. sounds good. thanks

you don't need to train abs to get a six pack for example .... abs get the toned look when your body fat percentage is low.... , strong abs will make you perform better in squats and major lifts that requires stability and balance...but it's not really important to train them at all for any other reason...train them once every week with low volume that's more than enough, do for example 2 sets of cable crunches then follow them with a set or two of regular crunches or any variation of situps/crunches ...but don't waste your time doing hundreds of situps and crunches ....

sounds good..sounds good =]

There's alot more to core than crunches.

Do a search on "core" in this forum. There's been alot of good discussions.
